Travel with China Southern Airlines
China Southern Airlines was established in 1988 following the restructuring of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Its main hubs are in Beijing Capital International Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. It is now one of China’s ‘big three’ airlines, the sixth largest in the world in terms of number of passengers, and Asia’s largest airline both in terms of fleet size and passengers carried. Its routes cover 193 destinations in 35 countries worldwide, including 65 international destinations. China Southern Airlines flights maintain the highest safety record in China, and in 2011 it gained four-star status from Skytrax as well as the Skytrax ‘World’s Most Improved Airline’ award.

Two levels of first-class travel are offered: Premium First Class and Regular First Class.
• Regular first-class passengers on a flight with China Southern Airlines are offered a ‘luxurious skybed’ on Boeing 787-8s. This facility is equipped with personal privacy and built-in massage seating, which is also fully reclining. Other first-class facilities on offer include a 17-inch personal TV. The airline also has First Class on its Airbus A330s, featuring a seat pitch of 84 inches which converts into a fully flat bed.
• China Southern Airlines offers Premium First Class and Platinum Private Suites on select flights such as on the Beijing-Guangzhou route. This cabin offers more amenities and is even more spacious than ‘ordinary’ First Class, and includes a variety of lighting options and a private storage cabinet with a password lock. Catering carries a wide choice of Chinese and western menu items, with beverages and wines also offered.
Business Class offers seats which recline into a fully flat bed, and an adjustable privacy divider so you can get a good night’s sleep. If your work demands concentration, choose as much or as little privacy as you require. This is achieved through seats which can be separated with a privacy central divider to create independent ‘private rooms’. Working facilities include a literature pocket, laptop storage, USB port, a power outlet and a reading light. For relaxing there is a personal 15-inch TV. The new generation of ‘intelligent seating' in a 1-2-1 configuration can be found on board the A380, which is designed to allow aisle access for all seats. Catering comes with a choice of main dishes and both western and Chinese menus. There is a range of movie, TV and video entertainment on offer through the airline’s in-flight entertainment package and music comes with an extensive menu of western or Chinese styles of music.
