Airport Information

The airport is about 13 miles from the centre of the city's central business district, on South Airport Boulevard. Those flying into Southern California may prefer LAX airport on 1 World Way, about 15 miles outside downtown Los Angeles.
Transportation from the Airports
Transportation from the airports into the surrounding cities is generally a simple process. From San Francisco International, you can choose between a train trip on Bay City Transit for $8.25, or take a SamTrans bus for $4. If you'd prefer a taxi however, the cost into town will be about $36. To get from Los Angeles International Airport into town, taxis are readily available just outside the airport terminal at a cost of about $46.50 a ride.
The Weather in California
Because of the size of the state, you'll find that the weather in California varies greatly from area to area. In the south, near Los Angles, temperatures average 24°C annually with only about 15 inches of precipitation. In the north of the state, in San Francisco, the temperature cools down somewhat, with an average high of 18°C and nearly 24 inches of rainfall. The best time to visit California is during the summer, when you need only the lightest clothing.
