Flying from Belgrade International Airport

Also known as Nikola Tesla Airport, Belgrade International Airport is located 7.5 miles west of central Belgrade, in the Surcin Municipality. It was renamed in honor of the Serbian inventor in 2006, and is currently owned and operated as a public enterprise. Several major airlines serve this airport, including Air France, Air One, Croatia Airlines, and Wizz Air. Airport Parking in Belgrade

The airport provides several parking options if you choose to drive your personal vehicle to your flight. There is a parking garage for long-term parking and another large parking area, located near the terminal for short-term parking. The multi-level car parking garage has 521 parking spaces and is available throughout the day. The P3 parking lot, which is located across from the cargo warehouse, is available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and costs 400 RSD per day.

Transportation to Nikola Tesla Airport

If you are driving, you can reach the airport by following Highway E70 or by going in the direction of Zagreb and then turning towards Obrenovac. Another way of getting to the airport is by using a shuttle bus. These leave hourly from Slavija square in the centre of Belgrade, via the Fontana square and the Central Station. You can also take a taxi, but make sure to choose one that has a blue oval license plate to make sure it's a legal one.

There are several shops and restaurants at the airport that you can go to if you have time. You can get something to eat or drink from the Aviator or Business Club Lounge restaurants or from any of the four bars located in Terminal 1.

Transportation from the Airport

There are five car rental agencies located on the arrivals level of the main terminal building for your convenience. Taxi service from the airport to the city of Athens is available at a flat daytime rate of €35 and night-time rate of €50. Four regional bus routes and the KTEL Express service routinely pick up passengers in front of the main terminal. The airport station for Metro rail service is located across the street in the terminal parking area.

Weather in Athens

Athens experiences extremely warm weather in the months of July and August, where the daily high can top 32°C. Make sure to pack swimsuits in order to make the most of the area's beaches and swim clubs. Temperatures cool down in the months of December through March, and you'll want to pack a warm jacket and layer your clothing for temperatures that average in the mid-40s.
