Bangkok to Mumbai Flights
Flying out of Bangkok
Travellers flying out of Bangkok will leave from Suvarnabhumi Airport, whose name means "The Golden Land." Handling over forty-seven million passengers each year, it is one of the busiest airports in Asia and is a hub for numerous airlines, including Airways International, Bangkok Airlines, and Orient Thai Airlines, all of which can be booked online through ebookers. Located at Bang Sao Thong, Samut Prakan, Thailand, the airport is about fifteen miles east of Bangkok's city centre and fifteen miles north of the coast.
Where to Park
Parking at Suvarnabhumi Airport is divided into regular parking and long-term parking lots. The regular lots are located directly next to the terminal and cost 240 baht per day. The long-term parking is a short walk away from the terminals costs only 133 baht per day. If you are planning a longer holiday, you can purchase a monthly parking spot for 950 baht.
Getting There
Ways to get to the airport by public transportation are plentiful. If you're light on luggage, however, the most convenient transportation method will be the bus system. Numerous bus routes stop at the airport, including routes 389, 390, 825, 9904, 9905, 9906, 9907, 9908, 9909, 9910, and 9916, and cost at most 70 baht per ride. Another option is the Airport Rail Link train service. The City Line is the most affordable at 45 baht but makes multiple stops and takes thirty minutes to get to the airport. The two express lines are much faster, averaging fifteen minutes from downtown, but cost 150 baht. Taxis are available for hire for 8 baht per mile plus a small driver fee, or you can let ebookers take care of booking you a car to take you to the airport.
What to Eat
The airport has many fast-food restaurants, including Burger King and Dairy Queen. For a more formal meal, however, Kinramen is a tasty option. It serves Japanese noodle dishes and is a great place to eat if you have some time to kill. The Mango Tree, a Thai restaurant that is known for its pad Thai noodles, is also on site. Both of these options will cost around 180 baht a dish. The Reef Bar is a fun place to grab a drink if you need to fill some time before flying out of Bangkok.
Landing in Mumbai
From Bollywood to beautiful beaches, Mumbai offers a unique holiday experience. Each year, over thirty million passengers pass through Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, located a little over three miles north of downtown Mumbai. Gulf, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Emirates are just three of the several airlines that serve the airport. Check with ebookers for affordable fares.
Transportation in Mumbai
If you decide to rent a car for your holiday in Mumbai, all three terminals of the airport contain car rental agencies for your convenience. Taxi services are also available from the terminals on a prepaid or walk-up basis. Many passengers choose the Mumbai Suburban Railway Network as an option for getting around the city. Take bus route 312 from the domestic terminals or bus route 321 from the international terminals to connect with the railway station at Vile Parle East. Auto rickshaws are also available outside the domestic terminals at metered fares, but be advised that the service area is rather small.
Weather in Mumbai
Temperatures in Mumbai remain rather steady throughout the year, although humidity and precipitation do fluctuate. Daily highs average between 29 and 33°C, although they have been known to climb much higher. Humidity peaks in late August to September, so packing light cotton-based clothing is a good idea. The rainy season is from June to September, making packing rain gear a must.
When to Go to Mumbai
The majority of visitors to Mumbai arrive after the rainy season, in October. You might have trouble finding rooms or decent flight fares on travel due to high demand at this time. If the weather does not bother you, plan a trip in the humid months of August and September when hotels are significantly lower, and don’t forget to check with ebookers for deals. If you arrive at this time, plan to experience the Ganesh Chaturthi, the feast in honour of the elephant-headed Lord Ganesh. While you’re in the city, take the time to enjoy the variety of temples, marketplaces, and museums that make Mumbai truly special.
