New Delhi to Mumbai Flights

Indira Gandhi International Airport

Indira Gandhi International Airport, located about ten miles from the city’s central business district, serves New Delhi, one of India's biggest cities. In 2011, the airport handled over thirty-five million passengers, with more than fifty airlines providing international flights. Airlines operating through the Indira Gandhi airport include Air China, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, and United Airlines, with Air India handling most domestic flights. Flights from New Delhi can be booked online using ebookers.

Parking at Indira Gandhi International Airport

Long-term parking is available at Indira Gandhi International Airport for airport patrons in the T3 International Terminal’s car park. The cost for 24 hours is Rs 900 for four-wheeled vehicles, Rs 1,500 for busses, and Rs 240 for two-wheeled vehicles. Vehicles can park for the same cost in the lot opposite the Departure Terminal as well.

Transportation to the Airport

Transportation from the centre of the city to the airport by taxi will cost approximately Rs 327 during the daytime, with rates rising to about Rs 409 after midnight. Busses are also available through the Delhi Transport Corporation for only Rs 15.

A Meal Before Leaving

There are a number of cafes and restaurants available at the airport where travellers can have a last meal before leaving the city. Those looking to have a small snack and beverage can stop off at Costa Coffee, Cafeccino, or Café Coffee Day, all located in the T3 terminal. For a sit-down meal, there’s Mediterranean, European, and Indian food available at Fresc Co, and South Indian cuisine at Vaango. Patrons of the airport can even indulge a sweet tooth, with ice cream from the airport’s Baskin Robbins or the Chokola & Haagen Dazs, donuts from Mad over Donuts, or Australian cookies from Cookie Man. If time is short before catching a flight from New Delhi, there are also a few fast food places available, including KFC and McDonald's.

Landing in Mumbai

From Bollywood to beautiful beaches, Mumbai offers a unique holiday experience. Each year, over thirty million passengers pass through Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, located a little over three miles north of downtown Mumbai. Gulf, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Emirates are just three of the several airlines that serve the airport. Check with ebookers for affordable fares.

Transportation in Mumbai

If you decide to rent a car for your holiday in Mumbai, all three terminals of the airport contain car rental agencies for your convenience. Taxi services are also available from the terminals on a prepaid or walk-up basis. Many passengers choose the Mumbai Suburban Railway Network as an option for getting around the city. Take bus route 312 from the domestic terminals or bus route 321 from the international terminals to connect with the railway station at Vile Parle East. Auto rickshaws are also available outside the domestic terminals at metered fares, but be advised that the service area is rather small.

Weather in Mumbai

Temperatures in Mumbai remain rather steady throughout the year, although humidity and precipitation do fluctuate. Daily highs average between 29 and 33°C, although they have been known to climb much higher. Humidity peaks in late August to September, so packing light cotton-based clothing is a good idea. The rainy season is from June to September, making packing rain gear a must.

When to Go to Mumbai

The majority of visitors to Mumbai arrive after the rainy season, in October. You might have trouble finding rooms or decent flight fares on travel due to high demand at this time. If the weather does not bother you, plan a trip in the humid months of August and September when hotels are significantly lower, and don’t forget to check with ebookers for deals. If you arrive at this time, plan to experience the Ganesh Chaturthi, the feast in honour of the elephant-headed Lord Ganesh. While you’re in the city, take the time to enjoy the variety of temples, marketplaces, and museums that make Mumbai truly special.
