Travel to Copenhagen Airport
Copenhagen Airport lies 8 kilometres to the southeast of Copenhagen and is Scandinavia's main airport. Each year the airport handles around 21.5 million passengers.
The airport has air-rail links to the Central Railway Station in Copenhagen. Travellers can also reach Copenhagen by bus or by car.
Copenhagen is often voted one of the best cities to live in. The city has plenty of attractions, bars and restaurants and the transport system is convenient and easy to use, making Copenhagen very accessible. Although it is not the cheapest city to visit, Copenhagen has a warm and friendly feel. Gammel Strand is amongst the most picturesque of the Copenhagen areas. Its streets are lined with 18th and 19th century houses and during the summer months a drink at one of its many restaurants and cafes is a great way of passing the time. Once the site of the old fish market, the only reminder of those days is the statue of the fishwife beside Hojbro. Amalienborg Slot is the home of the Danish royal family and is a collection of 18th century palaces with a central cobbled square. At noon, visitors can watch the changing of the guard.
Denmark is a small country and rail links are good. At Roskilde you will find the Viking Ship museum which houses some fine examples of Viking long boats as well as other artefacts.
