With five major airports around London, there are several options for flying out of the city. London City Airport, Stansted Airport, London Luton Airport, Gatwick Airport, and Heathrow Airport all serve the London area with international flights. Travellers flying into Prague arrive at Prague Ruzyně International Airport, located approximately 12 miles northwest of downtown Prague. To get to downtown, you can catch a taxi at one of the cab stands located by Terminal 1, where flights from London arrive. The average price for taxi service to the city centre is around 650 CZK, or 26£. The quickest public transportation to the city centre and metro station is aboard routes 119 and 100. Alternatively, you can book car hire service at the airport for transportation during your stay.
Weather in Prague is cool throughout the year, but summers have pleasant highs between 22 and 25°C from June through September, making it a nice time of year for a visit. Winters are very cold, with average lows staying below the freezing mark from December through March. Pack cold weather clothing if you visit during the winter, and bring a coat or warm clothing for the cool summer nights as well.
