Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport
For travellers who want to fly out of the Santiago de Chile area, Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport offers a convenient way to travel. The airport is located approximately fifteen miles north-east of downtown Santiago de Chile along Vespucio Norte Express, making it easy to access for departing holidaymakers. The airport has twenty airlines providing international flight service, including American Airlines, Air Canada, and Air France, as well as three domestic airlines for passengers who want to visit other areas of the country. Book flights aboard these airlines and others with ebookers when you are ready to plan your holiday.
Parking at the Airport
After reserving your flight tickets with ebookers, decide how you want to arrive at the airport when you leave Santiago. If you want to drive your own vehicle or have someone take you to the airport, a few parking options are available. The express parking area is the orange parking, which is located closest to the terminal and charges CH$1,050 per thirty minutes. The roofed yellow parking costs CH$750 per thirty minutes, and the green economic parking costs CH$250 for the same amount of time.
Getting to the Airport
If you would rather avoid airport parking, other ways to get to the airport include public transportation or taxi service. Official bus transportation is available through both TurBus and CentroPuerto, and rates range from CH$1,400 to CH$1,900 for one-way service. Taxis are more expensive but offer the convenience of door-to-door service. Three official taxi companies serve the airport: Taxi Oficial, Taxi VIP, and Radio Móvil Tur Bus. Contact one of these companies to ask about their rates and to make arrangements for getting to the airport.
Airport Dining Options
Arrive at the airport in plenty of time before your flight departs to make sure you don’t miss your flight because of busy lines. If you aren’t sure when your flight is scheduled to leave Santiago, you can check your ticket stub or go to the ebookers website to confirm the time. While you are waiting to board the plane, you can relax with a snack or light meal at any one of the airport’s twenty-one eateries, including Starbucks, Gatsby cafeteria, and Dunkin' Donuts.
Landing in Mumbai
From Bollywood to beautiful beaches, Mumbai offers a unique holiday experience. Each year, over thirty million passengers pass through Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, located a little over three miles north of downtown Mumbai. Gulf, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Emirates are just three of the several airlines that serve the airport. Check with ebookers for affordable fares.
Transportation in Mumbai
If you decide to rent a car for your holiday in Mumbai, all three terminals of the airport contain car rental agencies for your convenience. Taxi services are also available from the terminals on a prepaid or walk-up basis. Many passengers choose the Mumbai Suburban Railway Network as an option for getting around the city. Take bus route 312 from the domestic terminals or bus route 321 from the international terminals to connect with the railway station at Vile Parle East. Auto rickshaws are also available outside the domestic terminals at metered fares, but be advised that the service area is rather small.
Weather in Mumbai
Temperatures in Mumbai remain rather steady throughout the year, although humidity and precipitation do fluctuate. Daily highs average between 29 and 33°C, although they have been known to climb much higher. Humidity peaks in late August to September, so packing light cotton-based clothing is a good idea. The rainy season is from June to September, making packing rain gear a must.
When to Go to Mumbai
The majority of visitors to Mumbai arrive after the rainy season, in October. You might have trouble finding rooms or decent flight fares on travel due to high demand at this time. If the weather does not bother you, plan a trip in the humid months of August and September when hotels are significantly lower, and don’t forget to check with ebookers for deals. If you arrive at this time, plan to experience the Ganesh Chaturthi, the feast in honour of the elephant-headed Lord Ganesh. While you’re in the city, take the time to enjoy the variety of temples, marketplaces, and museums that make Mumbai truly special.
