Airports in Seoul
There are two airports serving Seoul, South Korea. Incheon International Airport, the largest airport in the country, is located about thirty miles west of downtown and offers flights on over ninety different airlines to destinations around the world, including Paris, New York, Dubai, Moscow, and London. Gimpo International Airport, which is located in a western suburb of Seoul, primarily handles regional and international flights to and from other cities in Asia, such as Tokyo, Beijing, and Taipei. Wherever you are headed, find flights from Seoul to your favourite destinations on ebookers.
Parking at Seoul's Airports
Parking at Incheon International Airport includes short-term, long-term, and valet options. Daily rates range from eight thousand to twelve thousand won. Gimpo International Airport has three parking lots, which are located next to the domestic terminal, next to the international terminal, and next to the freight office building. However, these lots are intended for day use, not long-term parking, so the cost for parking is about two thousand won per hour. People wishing to park long term can use the parking service found on the first floor of the domestic terminal, which starts at a rate of five thousand won for twenty-four hours, plus a seven thousand won service fee. Local private car parks are also available near Gimpo International Airport.
Ground Transportation in Seoul
Public buses and shuttle services pick up passengers at various points around Seoul for transport to both Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport. Line five and line nine of the Seoul subway both have stops at Gimpo International Airport. Passengers to either airport can also take the airport line that leaves from Seoul Station and has stops at Gongdeok, Digital Media City, Gyeyang, and Hongik University. Taxis and private car services are also available for door-to-door service from your home or business directly to the airport.
Airport Restaurants
Before heading out on a flight from Incheon International Airport, you can enjoy traditional Korean food at restaurants such as JaYeon and Haneul, or you can have a Western-style meal at restaurants such as Bennigans and Paris Croissant. Quick-serve options, such as Café View, let you get a quick cup of coffee or sandwich while you wait for your flight. Dining options at Gimpo International Airport include full-service restaurants such as Lotteria and Phobay, as well as places to get coffee and pastries, such as Tous le Jour and Dunkin Donuts.
Arriving in Auckland
If you travel to Auckland by air, you will likely fly into Auckland Airport. The airport is located about thirteen miles south of the city on George Bolt Memorial Drive, making it a convenient location if you plan on visiting the northern part of New Zealand. Make your flight reservations aboard Air New Zealand, British Airways, or one of ten other airlines serving Auckland when you book your flight with ebookers.
Leaving the Airport
It takes about thirty minutes to reach downtown Auckland by car, so allow half an hour if you take a taxi or hire a rental car. The rates for taxis are between NZ$60-NZ$80 for a ride into the city, with an extra fee for additional passengers. Rates for rental cars can be compared side-by-side on the ebookers website. There is also a blue express bus from the airport, which can take you to the downtown ferry terminal in ten minutes for a fare of about NZ$16.
Weather in Auckland
Because Auckland is located in the southern hemisphere, the coolest months are from June through August, when average highs stay around 15°C and lows are between seven and eight degrees. January and February see the hottest temperatures, with lows above fifteen degrees and highs averaging more than 23°C. The warmest months also see the least precipitation, making Auckland an ideal holiday getaway during the cold winter months of the northern hemisphere. Pack plenty of sunscreen if you travel during January, as Auckland sees over 225 hours of sunshine during the first month of the year.
Enjoy Your Holiday
The largest city in New Zealand has plenty to offer both outdoor adventurers and those who are more inclined to stay indoors. Outdoor types traveling during New Zealand's warmer months will thrill at the 360-degree views of Auckland offered by the volcanic cone Mount Eden, the city's highest point. For those who would rather be indoors, another spectacular view can be seen from Sky Tower, the highest free-standing structure of the entire southern hemisphere. If you want some structure during your Auckland holiday, search for tour packages when you make your reservations with ebookers.
