The BEST WESTERN PLUS Hovell Tree Inn is easily recognized by its large bay windows overlooking landscaped gardens. Located three hours drive north of Melbourne and six hours drive south of Sydney, the airport is ten minute drive. Public transport is just outside our door. The Hovell Tree Inn features 60 guest rooms, spa suites and fully self contained apartments.
All of our rooms offer free Austar television, mini bar, data port, hairdryer, tea and coffee facilities with toaster, individual Reverse Cycle air conditioner, full size ironing board and iron. Physically challenged room available on request, we also have rooms with balcony on request, guest laundry, wireless and broadband Internet. All rooms are non smoking.

The hotel is well presented, clean

The hotel is well presented, clean and well furnished although it is a good distance from the carpark under the rooms back to the building entrance then back down the corridor depending on where the room is. No concierge/porter service is provided although reception staff are friendly.
The hotel does have a restaurant although a 15 minute walk enables local restaurants in the main street to be accessed.

Description
Quiet central location. Walking distance to shopping centre, art gallery, botanical gardens. All deluxe rooms , licensed restaurant and lounge, outdoor pool and BBQ area. Children are charged as adults at this hotel.

The staff especially Tania went out of their way to help us. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. We would certainly stay there again.

The room was dated but clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was exactly what we would expect for a road trip overnight stop where you don't need to spend much time in the room.

Albury, on the banks of the Murray River. Within walking distance from the City Centre, all hospitals, the University. Hotel is in the heart of the Murray River tourist area with its historic gold town and wineries. Senior ages is 60 and older. Front desk hours5 7AM - 10PM, if arriving outside of these hours, please contact hotel directly for instructions. The hotel also have 4 star apartments (EXESPA and EXESUI). Max. 2 children 12yrs and under stay free on existing bedding in the room. Additional children and children over 12 are charged as adults.

Below even your lowered expectations

You don't really expect too much from a Comfort Inn, but even with lowered expectations, this place doesn't do much right. Stay here only if you can answer yes to the following questions: Do you like brown carpeting that hides stains? How about beds right up against the window? Do you enjoy hearing all of the other guests? How about parking lots that can barely accommodate the guests' cars? Do you enjoy your motel being right up against a heavily trafficked road? Finally, do you like sleeping in beds that give you that icky suspicion that lots of gross things have happened there in the past? If so, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, for the 99% of the population that expects at least a nice bed, attractive room, and safe-feeling surroundings, look elsewhere. Better yet, bypass Albury altogether unless you are – like us – forced to overnight here on the road to better places.

On arrival we were made feel very welcome and everything was ready for us. The motel is very close to the centre of town but in a very quiet location which is very good. The room was spacious and confortable and very clean. he was a queen size and very comfortable. Air conditioning was excellent and facilities were very good. I would recommend this motel to anyone travelling to Albury

The location is wonderful, especially now that the lake is full.
