Bounce Sydney provides upmarket accommodation for backpackers and budget travellers. Fresh, new and modern, Bounce is conveniently located opposite Central Station. We've got air-conditioning in every room, high-speed WiFi internet, a secure key card system, huge lockers, three lounge areas, and an awesome rooftop terrace and BBQ area with stunning views of the Sydney skyline. Good for young/broke, but not for others

Good: * almost next door to Central Station * hotel is very new (built in 2010) * free breakfast * rooftop lounge area is cool with ok view * cheap for CBD Bad: * Noise: We're in RM207 (private double ensuite bathroom) next to fire exit door & co-ed bathroom. We stayed for 9 nights. For 8 out of 9 nights, we heard some kind of noises from early night/morning. They might be in hallway, but I didn't thing a staff did anything to drunk guests even though some loud talking/screaming continued for 1H or longer. * Room Cleaning: We put "Please make up room" sign every morning, but our room wasn't cleaned even once. We knew the cleaning crew saw the sign because the trash can was emptied every day. Nevertheless to say, they didn't change towel/sheets. * Service: My husband asked for extra pillow at the reception desk. She said to have someone bring to the room. He didn't get an extra pillow during our stay. * Free Shuttle Service: We called from airport and waited for almost an hour. After calling the hotel multiple times, we ended up taking train. They reimbursed the cost, but I really wanted to get to the hotel more than anything as our flight arrived in the evening. Recommendation: I'd recommend if you're broke. But I don't recommend for others. If I do it again, I'd book the "hotel" near Circular Quay even it costs more.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

We found a cheap bar/restaurant near hotel. The name is something Italian on the corner of Elizabeth/Randle Streets across from Ding Dong Dang Karaoke. Selected cocktails are $5.50 (weekdays) & $5 (weekend), and rump steak is $10.

This hotel just opened, so they

This hotel just opened, so they were still sorting out the small details for the first day or two i was there. However, after that they seemed to work out the kinks & overall it was a great deal for a brand new hostel with everything I needed & a train directly across the street.
