good location for lively night life
The hotel was easy to find on a small but lively street. Plenty of late night bars and cafes for the 20-30's traveller. Only 5 min walk to the tube station or 15 minutes to walk to the heart of the city. The staff was friendly and helpful,(free storage for my bike). The room was simple and quiet (no view to inner court). Spacious bathroom with a surprise adjacent kitchenette. I felt it was good value overall.

A/C was on 24/7 but barely cooled the room. Staff excellent, and friendly. Clean. Well worth the price, and nearby to everything. Maybe a mile from the Red Light District which was good. Don't need THEM in front of my hotel.

Order a bigger room, get some space to move and avoid the $25 wifi charge, that has too many problems to begin with.

Very good budget hotel
Hotel is well located with access to public transportation very easy to go anywhere in downtown Sydney. Hotel is a little old with a few stairs to go up and down if you carry heavy luggage. Room was basic but confortable. It had a small kitchen and everything was very clean. Grocery stores very close by. I would stay there once again.

price doesnt reflect the stars
Never been to a hotel that doesn't even provide Kleenex. Bed was small and uncomfortable. Staff acted like robots, not real friendly.

Good place for price
The fabulous neighborhood and the discount price I paid made The Devere work well for me. Decor is rather shabby, but if that's not an issue for you, this is a good choice. Good complementary breakfast and friendly staff. Close to train and bus stops.

Lobby was filthy! Awful red district location. Parking was four blocks away and dangerous at night.
This is rated as three-star, but it is a low class, dirty hotel that should be down graded to one star. Better yet, taken off the Orbitz list. A horrible experience.

Great Place to Experience Sydney
The hotel itself was mediocre. The rooms could use a facelift but the staff was friendly. The location is underrated but perfect for getting around Sydney's suburbs for sightseeing. To the right of the hotel is Woolloomoolo and to the left is Kings Cross. It's at the crossroads for hip boutique cafes and wine stores and gritty backpackers hotels and authentic Thai and Kabob shops.
