Great location, friendly staff

This hotel might be said by some to be `dated` in decor, but we found it to be unique and not off putting. The location at Kings Cross cant be beat. The staff are friendly and happy to give you advice and help with luggage. It wont knock your socks off, but it wont disappoint, and its an excellent value, unless you want to pay $100 more to be in the financial district.

NIce hotel, impressed but..design flaws

I really liked this hotel overall. Very cheerful and helpful staff. Hotel well located, everything was just a block or two away, great restaurants, gym, grocery, bars and areas of interest. Hotel is designed, and designer and clean and modern.Loved it. BUT, there were some strange details in the room. Around my flat screen tv, there was an exposed area with all the wires exposed and narly. It was so odd to look at this for 9 nites, wondering how did the designer of the interiors let that happen? why had they let that detail slide? it Baffled me the entire trip. It doesnt help that I work in design, so details are EVERYTHING to me and my eye. So the interior designer gets a FAIL letter F for design which brings my rating down to 4 out of 5 stars. My room was comfy. Quite at nite. Bed was perfect. had free internet which was a surprise. but I guess I paid for it. The hotel is not cheap, but nothing is in Sydney. I was suprised the hotel didnt have a bar and restaurant. That would have made it perfect. There were a lot of interesting people I saw coming in and out and I met one of them at a bar one nite, and I would have liked to have met some of the other guests in the hotel since I was traveling alone. Another con is the apartment building across the street. Full of peepers and if I can see straight into their apartments and see what they are cooking for dinner, they can see my every moment. If you are into it, leave your curtains drawn..very nosy peepers peep... One of my favorite trips ever in my life in the end. Great city. Everyone looked healthy and happy.

This location was great. I even walked downtown center Sydney, and the Opera House from the hotel, and the local hot spots.

Great hotel and excellent location

We couldn't have been more pleased with the room, the courteous, helpful staff or the location. Getting anywhere in and around the Central Business District was easy, with bus service less than a block from the front entrance. The staff were very pleasant and very helpful.

Okay.

The staffs are friendly. The hotel itself is close to everything. Be aware of safety issues as this hotel is located in one of the most notorious areas in Sydney according to my tour book (the other area is the redfern district). The room was torn and could be significantly cleaner. Won't stay there again for the next time. It is not a hotel for families or couples. It is more suitable for guys looking for paid romance in the kings cross area.

My stayed at Diamant Boutique Sydney

The location is great, there is a train station very close, and if you decide to walk it will take 20 min from the hotel to the opera house, the service in the hotel was good, the room size just perfect, in general the installations are very good, the only thing that did not like to me was that in the room there is not a free internet, you need to pay and extra fee and is not cheap. You can take a bus shutter to the airport just in front of the hotel and a very cheap price, it takes 30 min. there is restaurants, convenience stores, etc. close to the hotel.

4 Nights in Sydney

From the moment we walked in the front door and until we left, we were very happy with everything about the Diamant. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and had everything we needed, there were plenty of good restaurants nearby, the neighborhood was lively and felt safe, and we would absolutely recommend the Diamant to anyone wanting a great Sydney experience.

I've stayed at this hotel before,

I've stayed at this hotel before, and have reviewed it already, but something happened with this booking that I feel merits particular mention. I had to make a change to my booking only a few days prior and though they were under no obligation to do so, the hotel charged only a minimal fee for the alteration and otherwise refunded me in full for the nights I had to cancel. I was very impressed by this customer service.

The staff was young and fantastic - caring, motivated and reliable. Each day they gave fantastic recommendations and friendly advice... it was by far the BEST experience we have ever had a hotel. Good hotel, good price

Friendly staff. Free internet in lobby, but don't catch signal in room on 5th floor. Good location next to subway station. Not too long, but not short walk to parks and Opera House, etc. Watch out for strip clubs and hookers nearby. Somewhat shady area, but nothing to worry about. Bad lighting in rooms. They have a "trendy" version of dark colors and low lighting.
