The location is great, which is
The location is great, which is just opposite Wynyard Station. It was very clean and the stuff there were nice and helpful. However, false fire alarm went off 6am, and we were charged for something (not specified on the invoice) in the mini-bar in the room, but the thing is we didn't take anything from the mini-bar at all. Couldn't be bothered to call them, thought there was no proof since I got the invoice via mail several days after our staying.

This hotel is in a great location
This hotel is in a great location right in the heart of Sydney. It is very close to public transport and easily accessible. However, the hotel is dated with some rooms in dire need of renovation.

While no longer top of the line,
While no longer top of the line, it was still a great place to stay. Staff were excellent, location is close to CBD and Rocks areas and access is easy. Only the car parking lets it down a bit as it's expensive and slow to get out, but the hotel is still great.

The Menzies is conveniently located.
The Menzies is conveniently located. While staying there for 5 nights last week I was worken by Fire Alarms on 3 of the 5 nights. They need to get this fixed!

The only disappointing feature
The only disappointing feature was that the top sheet on the bed was far too small for the bed. The elevated garden area outside the window could also have done with a bit of a clean-up to remove drink cans and litter.

Awesome location!
Taxis are expensive in Sydney. This is an ideal location for taking the train from the airport. It is also within a few blocks of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. I felt safe walking alone at night. It would have been nice to have more hotel staff to help with luggage etc. Also, there is a charge for internet use...silly. Otherwise, it was fine.
