Reasonably-priced four-star hotel in downtown Sydney
After almost 50 years, the Menzies still retains charm at its four-star location in downtown Sydney. quick trip to sydney
i was in sydney for only a few days, never been before, so i wanted somewhere close to the main attractions of the city. the hotel itself is in a business district, but it's all within alking distance to the main sights, like the opera house and darling harbor. the room was a little small but perfect for a single traveller, the bathroom was a little awkwardly placed but not a big issue. the room was very clean. i didn't go to the pool or any of the bars or restaurants. the staff was very helpful when i needed to get train timetables. there is free internet in the lobby for 30 min and the price in your room is very high, but this seems very typical for australia.

We had previously stayed at this hotel & had a classier room, the room this time was a bit shabby & in need of a re-furb, but it was large & comfortable although very little wardrobe space. It was not the room as advertised on-line. The staff were very helpful & room service meals were excellent. We would stay there again.

Menzies great value hotel
Good location and great service . Andrew Austen, Hotel Concierge. Very helpful not only with us and with other Hotel guests. He provided the extra touch that made it easy for us to navigate Sydney. Transportation, tickets to the Opera House and various attraction. The Hotel is convenient to all transportation hubs and walking distance to most everything. Recommend.

very good visit
The hotel Menzies in Sydney as a very good value. It was well located and the staff was very helpfull. The room as in good shape and everythingg worked well. I would stay again

Great Location. Good Value
The Menzies is one of the old-charm hotels located in the heart of the city. This used to be the best hotel in Sydney but as time goes by some upgrades are obviously needed. Overall, very friendly staff, unbeatable location--a 15 minute walk from Sydney Opera House--and a good value for money make this hotel a great find in such a busy and expensive Metropolis as Sydney.

great location
The Menzies is centrally located within walking distance of most of the sights. The rail station was just across the street (underground) so transportation to and from the airport is quick and easy. The hotel is clean, the room was relatively large and the bathroom was nice. My room faced the interior courtyard so there was nothing to look at except walls but the location and price made this a hotel I would certainly recommend.

Good location
The Menzies was located right outside the train stop from the airport and it was within walking distance of Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The hotel was nice except for all of the smokers crowding the entry. This worked very well for us.

The Menzies Sydney
The hotel was beautiful and located close to Darling Harbor and many other attractions. We were only there for two nights and one day, so we decided to do a day excursion. It included a boat tour of Sydney Harbor while enjoying a buffet lunch. Next we boarded a bus to tour North Sydney. We were lucky to enjoy a short time at the Manly Jazz festival that happened to be that weekend. Finally we ended up at the Tower where we had dinner at the top while enjoying the view of Sydney's night lights. We had a great time!

Excellent hotel
Elegant hotel in a very good location. Near Circular Quay, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, NSW Art Museum and almost anything you might need, shopping wise. Hotel staff is very helpful

A very good experience. Heating
A very good experience. Heating a little bit of an issue as we were unable to turn it up but did not detract from stay. Restaurant excellent. Room very comfrotable.
