Trip to the Red Center

  • Bicycle race fan
  • 17 Feb 2012
There are several very swank (expensive) hotels in Yulara complex, restaurants & shops in the center near the Visitors Information area. The Lost Camel is very modern, interesting room lay-out, upgraded decor. Great swimming pool & deck. No food in this hotel, but there are several cafes, grills, a deli, & a supermarket in the central complex. Hotel staff help to make reservations for camel rides, dinner under the stars & a variety of trips to Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is in the National Park & requires a pass.

This hotel is placed very well

  • Anonymous
  • 20 Jun 2011
This hotel is placed very well within the resort, it is quiet, well maintained and has 3 places to eat. No-one should expect too much luxury in the middle of a desert with both food and accommodation, however, we found it delivered all that we needed to enjoy Uluru and Kata Juta. The local (free) bus and all the tour buses leave from outside the office, the pool area looks very clean, breakfasts are very expensive in Bough restaurant but again there are other options available by taking the little bus to the other part of the resort. Note, there is no movie theatre at the main resort any more. Sails is a very nice place to eat.

Would have been nice if the hotel

Would have been nice if the hotel had advised us of the deadline for ordering packed breakfast. Given the tourists tend to go on afternoon to evening tours at Uluru, surely there are many customers who failed to place orders in time.
