mildew

Great location however the hotel smelled of mildew. It was very strong in the room, so strong that as i kept travel all of my clothes still smelled from leaving my bag in this room all day. The room was overall dirty when I checked in. The toilet actually had skid marks. But the staff was great in helping me find things to do. I traveled alone and don't need much so it got the job done for my for the value and location. I def would not stay here with a family way too dirty for kids.

I was there on a business trip

I was there on a business trip in May 2011. The room had basic cooking facilities, a smoke alarm, and a a warning of a fine should the alarm is set off. I then realised one of the batteries in the remote control removed, and there wasn't hot water in the tap. I've turned the tab to the far end and filled more than half the tub. No hot water. Tried again on the other far end for half a fresh tub, still no hot water. When I enquired at the reception, I was told I can "still press the buttons to control the aircond" to which I replied "are you suggesting that I climb up to the high-mounted aircond?". As to the hot water for bath, I was asked to "turn it on for 5 minutes" (seriously) until the water turns hot. I filled 2 half cold water tanks earlier! Are we even trying to save water in Australia?! When I checked out the next day, I saw my neighbouring room undergoing renovations.

Not a good place for quality and value

FOr the price of the hotel room the quality was quite poor. The toilet had a sanitized and sealed strip and there was fecal matter in the bottom of the bowl. The shower had no curtain to enclose it so the whole bathroom was soaked. We couldn't get extra towels when we needed them. The "double" room was two twin beds pushed together. The room provided a kitchenette but the occupant was charged five dollars extra if you didn't do your own dishes. The hotel was under construction as well. If I would have been notified about it I wouldn't have booked the room. Too expensive and very unfriendly staff.
