Good hotel, rooms are very small
Good hotel, rooms are very small but sufficient for someone that isn't spending considerable time in their room. It would not be suitable if someone was aiming to do some work in their room as the facilities are not there for this type of person.

The rooms are small but fine for
The rooms are small but fine for a short visit. There was a problem with the air conditioner but the staff quickly provided an alternative room when it proved difficult to fix. Ollie on the front desk was extremely helpful, making recommendations, reservations and his input really made the hotel stand out for us.

I found that the staff bent over backwards to help you. The rooms were great and it is very central to the main part of the city

Great Hotel For Staying In The City
Hotel was great. It was pretty close to the Queen Street Mall, and the Romano and Central train stations. The staff were very friendly and were always willing to help. The room were very nice and clean, but the view from the rooms isn't that great. This hotel is not for people who are looking for a great view, it is for those who need a nice place to stay while in the city.

great quiet location/ however agreed price was not honored by Hotel. We were forced to extra $30 per night for bed selection even though selection was quoted on [...] reservation

The Portal is a modern, convenient
The Portal is a modern, convenient and pleasant hotel. The rooms are very small but work well for one or two nights. They are clean and comfortable and have all the necessary facilities. The dining room has good ambience but the meals are very expensive. The reception area and decor on each floor has been spruced up over the past few months and looks good.

Portal Hotel, appeared very nice
Portal Hotel, appeared very nice new and modern. Location was excellent, only a five minute walk from Brisbane CBD. Staff were friendly and approachable. Beware of public holidays though - as their restaurant is not open on a public holiday.

The room was too small -no place
The room was too small -no place to put your things in bathroom -very tight -makes it uncomfortable -bed was good however and very well situated -no carpark -have to pay more more for valet parking -restaurant very expensive with average food
