I'm glad to hear that you are upgrading the rooms as the one we stayed in needed some work done to it. The walls and bathroom were very dated. The door to the bathroom was rediculous as it was hard to open and close and very noisy. On the plus side we loved the amount of room we had it was very spacious.

we had booked a few rooms on a saturday night - did the breakfast deal - wow, what a scrumptious breakfast - impressive. renovations going on - a bit messy on some floors. pool area has potential. thanks to staff - very helful and especially for breakfast a 10 out of 10 - yummy

Compared to the room size I had
Compared to the room size I had last year @ Stamford Plaza Brisbane, the Grand Chancellor comes out tops. Room was ready on time & price wise half the price of the Stamford. Hats off to them, will stay there again, breakfast was good.

Townsville, Australia Hotel
the Hotel Chancellor was not easy to find (especially at night) and the rooms/services did not duplicate what was shown online nor in the brochures. The Hotel was ok, good location and friendly/helpful staff...but the gym/pool was closed for renovations (which was not mentioned in the reservation information), and the furniture/linens were not top quality.
