NO WIRELESS INTERNET FOR $30+ per day fee
I feel the advertising for this hotel was extremely deceptive because it was NOT WIRELESS - contrary to their advertising saying High Speed WiRELESS. Also, they charge over $30 per day for internet access over an hour. After I just about broke my back and legs on their super uncomfortable desk chair and voiced my concerns, the manager brought me a wireless modem and explained that wireless is available in their lobby. In my opinion, their lobby is not conducive to doing productive focused work. Additionally, I didn't consider this hotel to be a 4 star hotel. I felt the room and bathroom and lighting and bedding and creature comforts were 2 star. Very disappointing. The building is older, shabby, just not high quality at all. Very low quality place that has a great sounding regal hotel name but a horrible experience that is the exact opposite of what their name implies. I felt like I was in a prison cell.

Townsville, Australia Hotel
the Hotel Chancellor was not easy to find (especially at night) and the rooms/services did not duplicate what was shown online nor in the brochures. The Hotel was ok, good location and friendly/helpful staff...but the gym/pool was closed for renovations (which was not mentioned in the reservation information), and the furniture/linens were not top quality.

The whole hotel spelt of chemicals
The whole hotel spelt of chemicals during our 2 day stay & I would suggest that they change their cleaning products to a greener brand. There were no teaspoons in our room for the tea/coffee, we had to ask for them. The most serious breach was a table lamp which had live wires hanging out of it (it had no plug on the end to plug into the wall) but we didnt realise this as it was dark and when we tried the lamp & it didnt work, we thought it was switched off at the power point, so we turned on the power point but still nothing, then to our horror, we discovered the live wires hanging from the lamp - we could have being electrocuted. We called reception, they came up & collected the lamp but never ever returned with a replacement that we requested. They really couldnt care less. I cannot recommend this hotel at all and I would advise you stay well clear of it.

The feeling is bad when we stepped
The feeling is bad when we stepped into the room. The room is not clean and the mattress is the worst ever we experienced in Australia hotel. The bar fridge is like 40 years old with rust all around. We had to pay extra money to upgrade to a 'normal room' (what they called the superior'. Other than that, breakfast is good and city view is excellent.

No complaints with staff or service
No complaints with staff or service however, this hotel is very tired and in urgent need of a total refurb - the rooms are well below standard. Location is outside the CBD so be ready for a decent walk with no immediate cafes or restaurants in the area over weekends

We booked a "superior" room.
We booked a "superior" room. And we were not happy with it at all. It is the same as the other rooms. There was no remarkable difference and we could not see the value of the extra $50 that was charged for this room. Very very dissapointed!

The hotel rooms did not look anything
The hotel rooms did not look anything like the actual images on the site... The fridge was rusted and loud, the place was not at all what it seemed on the site.

The hotel was not based in the
The hotel was not based in the CBD, though was only a short walk, and was nice and close to the gardens. Would never stay here again, the bathroom wasn't very clean, the toilet did not flush properly, not all the TV stations worked and despite the fact that I requested for the room not to be made up, they still came into my room to re-stock the fridge, but did not bother to empty the very full bins. The service was average, certainly a not what you'd expect from a 4.5 star hotel. The building is old and run down.
