Located with absolute beach frontage,

Located with absolute beach frontage, the units are of an older style but kept in good condition and located close to all facilities shops restaurants etc. The resort includes a well maintained swimming pool, barbeque area and tennis court. The couple that manage the units couldnt be more friendly or helpful. The room rates are also very competitive.

3 sisters on Holiday.

First trip to Australia. Had a great time on the beach. Very relaxing and beautiful views. People very friendly. Rooms were large and within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Take the bus to Cairns for $4.80 if you want good shopping.

Rather go to Palm Cove beach

We went diving to the Great Barrier Reef and spent time on the beach swimming. The hotel was on the beachfront, however there were long flights of stairs to get down to the beach. You can book a hotel a block away and it would have been the same distance- the only difference would be vertical versus horizontal. The trip up and down the stairs to the beach or street gave us a good workout on our calves. Self- contained apartments are a good value, but there isn't daily room service- not even a towel change. I did not like the charge for pool towel changes. Also the nickel and diming for using the safe in your room, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper, etc. Annoying. They should just add it to the room charge. Also, no coffeemaker! The shopping and restaurants are scarce and not alot of variety

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you're interested in mostly diving from Cairns, I would suggest a liveaboard instead of staying at a hotel. Diving the Great Barrier Reef takes approximately an hour and a half to two hours from shore. Also, it's more expensive to book dives from shore due to the distance. Definitely not a short boat ride like most places. We wanted to dive multiple times everyday easily but couldn't due to the distance to the reef. A liveaboard situation would suit divers better than a hotel situation.

Our hosts were fantastic and the location was superb. Trinity Beach is a quiet spot but had everything we needed. The beach was superb and even though it was jellyfish season and we were confined to a netted off area the water was beautiful and the waves were great fun. Guests at Amaroo have access to a path behind the hotel straight down to the beach. Our room opened right up onto a stunning view of the ocean and the breeze off the water kept the room very cool, we scarcely used the aircon - very pleasant indeed!
