- Each room has its own private balcony city scape views of Cairns and the Trinity Inlet. Enjoy all that Cairns has on show, especially at night time when the city comes alive. Averaging 32 m2 the rooms are spacious available in either queen bed configuration or 2 double size bedding configuration. Rate covers 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under 12 using existing bedding (2 x double or 1 x queen bed). Maximum adult occupancy is 3 - additional adult charge will apply.

- The Mountain View will take your breath away! Enjoy the stunning rainforest views on the surrounding mountains from your very own private balcony. Fantastic hotel only a short walk
Fantastic hotel only a short walk to Cairns CBD along the boardwalk and parks. Got upgraded to Ocean View top floor, which was absolutely beautiful day and night with the moon beaming over the water. Staff where friendly and helpful. Room was clean and serviced daily. Beds were comfy and the room was air conditioned perfectly after a hot summer day. Pool was stunning and the swim up bar a bonus. The price of the hotel was very reasonable and free parking is rare these days in most holiday spots, so this was great also. First time stay in Cairns and Rydges Esplanade will be a definate hotel on our list next time, have no complaints. Excellent.

With all the adverse comments
With all the adverse comments that I've read on either here or Tripadvisor, I am more than happy to say that I enjoyed my stay, especially given the price that I paid. The room was spacious and clean, altho the mattress looked old. The Concierge department was very helpful. They helped you store your bags if early arrival and delivered them to your room once it's ready, right before you checked in. Breakkie was fantastic, loved the scrambled eggs and the price was good for the early bird special $15; room service dinner was prompt and loved the Caesar Salad. As being a hospitality worker as well, this resort deserves more respect than what other negative comments that I've ever read.

The housekeeping staff were at
The housekeeping staff were at times forgetful to leave handtowels and face cloths ( twice) and tea making supplies were not always replenished. I think the room was only vacuumed once in the whole seven days we stayed. Overall it is a very pleasant hotel to stay at.

The hotel facilities were very
The hotel facilities were very nice. Hotel was a little far from town. However it was a nice walk up along the boardwalk to get to and from town. If you don't mind a stroll then this is a good place to stay. The room was a decent size, not really much place to put away clothes in a cupboard, however this didn't really bother us. TV is a bit outdated, could do with an upgrade, along with the bed sheets, looked a bit old and drab. Overall a good stay.

dinner buffet, and a-la carte
dinner buffet, and a-la carte menu was superb -so much so that all meals were chosen to be at the hotel. Yoga Classs held there were of a high standard. staff were polite, attentive to our needs, friendly. Overall -exceptional service. This was the first time we had stayed at any Rydges Hotel and we plan to stay a the Rydges again.
