Rydges Tradewinds Hotel and Spa Cairns

An excellent facility with great value for money booked through HotelClub.

We were in Cairns for only three nights, would have liked to stay much longer so we could snorkel more. Wonderful hotel, location and city. Next time we will go after April and before November as this is their rainy season even though it is summer.

Loved the room. Spacious. I was traveling with my cousin and we got the 2 queen beds family room with water view. Beds were comfy and the room was clean. Balcony view was spectacular of the greeway, boardwalk, and ocean. This hotel is ideally located to area. We were able to walk everywhere. The staff were very helpful. Negatives - There should be free wifi or free access to computers in the business center. This would help people who need to print boarding passes, etc. There was a charge of $2.50 for a towel for the pool. Call the hotel about a transfer to and from the airport. They have a company that gives you a cheaper rate than the other shuttles.

We had an awesome time at Rydges. Its far enough away from the main street that you dont get the noise but its only about 2 blocks to walk so you're still close enough to everything. We got upgraded to a Suite which was fantastic, on the 7th floor, and even had its own coffee machine and spa bath. The bed was so comfortable we were trying to find the brand label so we could invest in one for home. The room was really spacious, had a really impressive assortment of toiletries, adequate mini-bar and the dvd & cd player were a great extra. Really impressed with the hotel and pool. The building is obviously old and has a few signs of wear & tear but overall its a really nice hotel to be in. The front desk staff weren't that friendly or helpful but considering your not on holidays to hang out with the hotel staff it doesnt really matter. If you want tourist information there's plenty of kiosks and booking agents up the street, you dont need anything from the hotel.

Excellent location within easy walking to shops, restaurants, etc. The decor of the hotel is looking a little dated but the rooms are spacious and bright. We were there as Cyclone Tasha crossed the coast so the weather forced us to have dinner at the hotel a few nights. The hotel restaurant was cheaper than most of the restaurants in Cairns with far better quality food. A little limited on choice but I could not ask for better quality meals. The only downside was the hot food at the breakfast buffet, it was awful and costly. Avoid at all costs.

Good hotel, could do with a bit of TLC though. It's looks a bit tired (dated decor). It's also quite noisy (you can hear the plumbing going in your neighbours' bathrooms).

We're staying at the ocean front view room at level 1, the room is absolutely awesome, clean, great view and the air-condition is strong enought to combat the super hot weather outside. We have early checked in and late checked out on request, the people are very helpful and nice. Very satisfied!!

Recently i had a very enjoyable stay at the Rydges Tradewinds on the Esplanade. The hotel provided all the' must have' facilities that you'd expect of a hotel of this standard. The rooms were spacious,well appointed, clean & well kept. The staff were only too happy to assist with anything that was required. For me the Hotel represented great value , was well located ,well kept & will definately be my choice when i visit Cairns again.

Excellent hotell. Extra plus with guests laundry. Internet is mostly in Australia quite expensiv as at Rydges
