we had two nights at the tradewinds,
we had two nights at the tradewinds, wish we had more! very well located, within walking distance of everywhere we went. All of the staff were very pleasant. Very relaxing sitting on the balcony of our room overlooking harbour

We were sorely disappointed by
We were sorely disappointed by the standard of cleanliness, service and overall appearance of the staff and hotel. It reminded us of a hotel from the 1970's with its tired decor and old carpets. The whole hotel requires refurbishment and complete modernisation. The staff appear to lack any interest in your welfare or enjoyable stay. We were charged for EVERY SERVICE including the use of the in-room safe. Don't try to ask for a coffee at the bar- restaurant as we tried and were told on the first encounter that the coffee machine was broken and on the second that the attendant couldn't use the (now working) machine as he had a broken hand!! We were even advised to use the cafe up the road! This, in essence, did not make for an enjoyable wedding anniversary stay!

We had a disabled room, the shower
We had a disabled room, the shower was fixed at the height of my chest and the wash basin was just above knee height. we asked to change but were told they were full. Tea cups were dirty and the walls were paper thin and we could here the family next door arguing at 11.30 pm. We used the pool towels and were charged $2.50 each on departure. Will not go back there. Great pool.

While a great location, the 2 disappointments were 1. On arrival given a room & key cards to a room that was already occupied. This was rectified reasonably quickly & a complimentary drink voucher given as an apology. @ Extra charges were made for payment by bankcard...disappointing fir such a big establishment.

Good value for money and consistent
Good value for money and consistent with the Rydges brand. The bed was a bit on the hard side, but not totally uncomfortable. Location is great and the on site spa was excellent. The general decor and building could do with an update.

The room was lovely and clean
The room was lovely and clean and I got a beautiful ocean view. The service was great, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to everything on the esplanade.

Showering in a bath is a bit old
Showering in a bath is a bit old fassioned. The water presure is great however the hot water takes a verry long time to come through to room 331. The exhaust fan in the bath room dosent suck verry much. Also, they need bigger bed sheets especially on the bottom. I am sleeping by my self and still the bottom sheet pulls out at the sides and bottom.
