Rydges trade winds hotel
Being in Australia for the first time, we had lots of questions. None were treated lightly. The location on the Esplanade was relaxing and centrl to restaurants, shopping and access to the Great Barrier reef. Splendid trip.

Fantastic in all categories
We were in Cairns for only three nights, would have liked to stay much longer so we could snorkel more. Wonderful hotel, location and city. Next time we will go after April and before November as this is their rainy season even though it is summer.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
We booked our scuba and snorkeling online before but wish we would have waited until we got there. We had 2 great days out on the Reef but we could have talked to some of the locals first if we had waited to book our days. Cairns is a FANTASTIC place if you love warm water,a beautiful Reef experience.

Our stay at the Rydges Tradewinds
Our stay at the Rydges Tradewinds Hotel was a very relaxing and serene place to unwind from our busy lives. The views over the Esplanade and out to sea, the gentle hum of people walking, jogging, blading and bikiing on the track; the quiet natter from those picnicing on the lawns, children frolicking and the sight of friends gathering to share time together was most heartening.Great to see people really enjoying themselves and we felt part of it even from our balcony. The staff and their service was warm and friendly and helpful. Our local tours were made easy with their assistance. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you Cairns.

My expectations were happily exceeded.
My expectations were happily exceeded. I certainly received more than I paid for. Lovely location, within a short walking didtance of my conference venue. The room was large, well appointed and I had a view of sea and mountains which I didn't think was offered in the budget price I paid. The staff were great, very helpful and caring. Thanks to all.
