Althought the hotel could use some updating (furniture mostly) the rooms were very clean and the bed quite comfy. The location was very good. Lots of restaurants, etc.

My stay at Rydges Southbank Townsville
My stay at Rydges Southbank Townsville was almost perfect. The room was comfortable and clean, the service was very friendly and professional. The restaurant too, was staffed by courteous and professional wait staff and very an excellent chef. The Garlic Prawns were the tastiest I have eaten. The hotel is central to town, cafes, museums. I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Townsville.

Front desk was quite friendly.
Front desk was quite friendly. The air con in the room was freezing-if you turned it off the walls were wet with condensation. Location is not bad as there are cafes and restaurants all down the street. I didn't go to the restaurant as the prices were very high. Room was OK and clean but could have done with more channels even PPV. Area has a New Orleans look about it.
