Not in the best part of town but

Not in the best part of town but very close to the CBD. Many restaurants on the door step of the hotel, having said that the hotels restaurants prices were very compenative. We had breakfast every day in the hotel which simply great. Bottom line is we had a good time at this hotel

although the surrounding buildings

although the surrounding buildings are not fantastic area, I loved this hotel. once you stepped through the door you were in a great place. they managed to fix up a glitch in the bookings. the first person was not as helpful as he should have been, making out it was my error and I was stuck with paying for two rooms unless I fixed it, but the second person who stepped right in, was great, assured me it would be fixed without me, but I phoned you guys anyway and you also assured me there was only one booking. apart from that, the only warning I would give would be only use a small car in the parking garage, and try and get into the garage earlyish to maximise your choice of parking. could they make the spaces bigger, and maybe get a few spaces in the next door public parking, as this one is really a bit claustrophobic and hard to manouvre in. I did not mind walking in the street after dark as some suggested, I liked the breakfast, and the room, and would happily stay here again.

Beautiful Hotel

We stayed at the hotel because it was close to the airport with a convenient shuttle bus available. The hotel was beautiful with a very friendly and helpful staff. We were there one night, then flew to Kangaroo Island for two nights and back again to the hotel for two nights. While we were gone, the hotel kept our extra luggage at no charge and it was waiting in our room when we checked back in. There is a computer to use in the lobby (free of charge) and taxis just outside the front. It is in walking distance of shopping, museums, gardens, and public transportation. During the day, the area is a typical downtown city. On the weekend, at night, there are long lines of people waiting to get into numerous clubs up and down the street. There are a number of adult themed businesses also with one right next to the hotel. There is a police station about a block away.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Because of the number of nightclubs on the street, traffic is extremely busy on weekend nights. However, if that is what you choose for entertainment, you have several places to choose from nearby. We did not check any of them out.

This used to be the former Holiday

This used to be the former Holiday Inn and although perhaps not on the best of Adelaide's streets it is fairly centrally located. We arrived and the pool was out of action which was a disappoinment as the temperature was in the high 30's but they did offer us the use of the one in their sister hotel a couple of streets away. The satff were friendly and we would stay there again.

Disappointed that, for the price

Disappointed that, for the price I'm paying, the room was old and the bathroom wasn't very well-equipped. A nice shower cubicle would be nice since there weren't a bath tub. I don't like a wet bathroom after shower. There wasn't breakfast provided in the price I paid too. Other than the above, the location of the hotel is great and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
