The setting is the big benefit

The setting is the big benefit here with great views abounding. The restaurant is very good too. However, I think that this hotel is just a bit "tired" and it shows in some small ways. These would be slightly stained chair covers, stained shower curtains, marked furniture and a slight musty smell throughout the place. It goes for an "old world" charm but I don't think that these things add to that. Also, only a few Foxtel channels and no CD/DVD player which for the price I expected. Also, there was a new two-tier breakfast system in place which seemed to confuse everyone and looked pricey. But, as with other Accor hotels I've used, the staff make a big difference to the stay by being friendly and helpful. And it IS a great location.

For A$250 a night (albeit on Easter

For A$250 a night (albeit on Easter weekend), we had expected better rooms. They initiated stuck us in what my wife thought was the staff accommodation - meaning no windows or view. Until she kicked-up a fuss, they changed us to better facing rooms. The bookings via net was pretty screwed-up as we had paid for breakfast inclusive but it wasn't registered when we'd arrived. Nonetheless, to be fair, they didn't charge us for it.
