Located in the heart of Devonport's central business district, the Quality Hotel Gateway is close to Maritime Museum, Devonport Airport as well as Devonport Regional Gallery.

Hotel newly extended top floor contains deluxe rooms, superbly appointed with luxury fittings, and magnificent views across the river and out to sea. Our top floor Deluxe Spa and Deluxe Junior Suites offer the luxury of first class style without the first class price tag.This is the largest hotel in the North West and the gateway to Tasmania's Cradle region. From hotel one can have a 6 minute drive to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal, 10 minutes to Devonport Airport, only 1 hour from Launceston and 3 hours from Hobart.

This hotel is old and really requires
This hotel is old and really requires a major maker over. Room was large and spacious (but old furniture and fittings). Ideal position, easy walk to town centre, shops, etc.

The staff at this hotel did not
The staff at this hotel did not seem to have very good hospitality skills. Most especially the breakfast staff in the restaurant were remiss to let us know that our booking did not include a 'hot breakfast' and that we were supposed to only serve ourselves 'toast and cereals'. Apparently cold breakfast means it is a 'continental' breakfast. We were most shocked after we had served ourselves from the hot selection of food (in most places we've been to, 'continental' means HOT food) that the girl managing the servery practically had a mini meltdown and embarrassed us infront of the entire crowd who were eating their breakfast that we had done the wrong thing and would be charged 'extra'. I would not recommend this place to stay if you are looking for a nice place to stay with helpful staff.

Great location meant we were able
Great location meant we were able to walk everywhere. Friendly staff made it a pleasure to stay at the Quality Hotel Gateway Devonport! the room was clean and cosy and well supplied with tea/coffee etc. thank you!

We stayed two nights and were
We stayed two nights and were visiting friends in town, so we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. However, the room was very nice. Modernised apart from the bathroom, which was a bit odd and just a small disappointment. The mattress was uncomfortable on one side, clearly the main side slept on by single travellers. Service of the reception desk was without complaint, particularly the staff member who assisted with maps and directions to the tourist information centre upon check out.

Excellent position being centrally
Excellent position being centrally located in the heart of Devonport. Very clean room, but a bit dated. Restaurant and hotel staff exemplary. I will definitely use this accommodation again.

The Quality Hotel Gateway, Devonport, Tasmania is a good regional accommodation venue. It is close to the main shopping precinct of Devonport and, therefore, to all restaurants. Worth a look, and the pricing is excellent also.
