The hotel was very central to the shopping area and the market. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and modern. With the location on the corner of Harrington and Macquarie st, it was noisy! The windows should be double glazzed, or something as we could hear hoons driving past or racing from the lights, also the buzzing sound from pedestrian crossing was loud (we had corner room on 4th floor). Parking is also a problem as hotel has only about 20 parking spots for whole hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Great position and service as one should, but often doesn't get, these days,even heated bathroom floor for those chilly times in winter. Lovely restaurant, and if you want a true heritage hotel to stay in, then don't go past the Lenna.

We were very happy with our stay at Salamanca Terraces Apartments. Our main criticism is that a small safe was not provided in each apartment for cash/cameras and other valuables. This seems to be a standard inclusion in most hotel & apartment accommodation these days. The TV was a bit old too but worked well and reasonable program selection.

I can't speak highly enough of the Salamanca Terrace Apaprtments. The apartment had a separate bedroom, proper laundry, full kitchen, enough closet space to keep Paris Hilton happy and was well maintained. Although I only stayed there 1 night, I would definately recommend S.T.A. to people travelling to Hobart for work or for leisure. The top end of town is a 10 minute walk away and Salamanca Markets just around the corner.

I was surprised by the size of the room and its facilities. The cupboard doors don't close fully; a few minor maintenance jobs like that would useful if not essential. Bed was comfortable and plenty of bedding for the cold Hobart night. Heater took a while to warm up but was adequate.
Breakfast was included in my deal and was very good but $18 for a continental breakfast seems expensive and I wouldn't have paid that much for it but have gone to a cafe.

This hotel was a good experience because it offered flexibility for triple acomodation which was difficult to find in Hobart without adults sharing beds. Beds were very comfortable and location met our needs, although if you were looking to walk to the town centre or wharf area this was a bit of a trek.
Rooms were serviced well during our stay, but attention to detail in cleaning could have been better. For example the power points and fridge were a bit dirty and one lamp was not working.

Great place to stay, walking distance to almost everything. Very helpful staff and the rooms looked like they had been renovated within the past few years, nice and modern. All in all, a great stay. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

Great place to stay. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit (2 couples) the only problem was there is not a lot of ventilation in the main bedroom.
The two single beds are in an open loft area, ideal for children but not so good for 2 couples.

Great Location - Great staff - would stay here again - couldn't have been more helpful including an early check in - Very good breakfasts and so close to all you need - just around the corner is one of Aust's best wine bars - Grape and a super Deli - Wurst House where you can buy just about anything. The Fruit Market was also good, Salamanca Markets a stones throw away on Saturdays is a foodies delight - check out Matthew Evans Pork Rillettes for a great treat and the Rare Food Sausages also on his stand are some of the best in the world!!! Did we LOVE Hobart ?? - oh yes!!!!!

We really like the location and size of rooms of this well appointed hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Internet access was poor at the time of the visit. An upgrade of the Internet is being made ready for roll out. This is our second visit and will return when we travel to Hobart.

This Hotel is in a good location close to the Hobart waterfront - 5 minute walk. The hotel is very modern with the rooms being of good size for 2 people without being large compared to other 4 star hotels. The staff are friendly and helpful with basic requests. Would recommend this Hotel for the price and location.

Hotel Collins is beautifully and tastefully decorated. The rooms are a great size and all ameneties are provided. The staff are very polite and helpful. This hotel is ideally positioned for visting the waterfront, the shopping centres and access to the main highway is close by.

Great location 10 mins away from Salamanca Place. Stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment, it was spacious, clean and the kitchen was well equipped. It was definitely value for money.

Check in and out was very seamless and friendly.
Accommodation was very good. If you are there for a lengthy stay you have washing machine and dryer in the apartment. Good kitchen if you get sick of restaurant food.
A number of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Tops.
Restaurant staff need to be a bit more customer focused. Not all but some.

Reception staff very helpful and professional. Would recommend this hotel as a very good place to stay.The sevaral restaurants would suit those who are on a limited budget right up to those for whom money is no object. if you wish to travel into the city centre there are taxis and buses outside.

The motel is better than I think.

The motel is better than I think. It's clean and the location is ok. Only walk distance to the woolworths and many restaurants, 10 minutes walk to the sandy bay.
The big issue is that you have to take your baggage upstairs by yourself. The three floor motel doesn't equip the elevator.
Compared to the price, it is the economic motel to stay overnight.

The accomodation was clean and nicely upgraded. Everything expected was provided for. The only drawback was the hard bed. If this is major problem for you then choose another hotel or bring along your own foam eggshell underlay.

The room was very clean although the bathroom was a little small. The staff were very helpful and the location is good being a short walk to nearby restaurants and Salamanca square. It was a little disconcerting to discover that the bed was not level nor the rest of the furniture, but this is part of the old world charm of the hotel which retains its original character.

We enjoyed our stay because the hotel was comfortable and close to the amenities and attractions in Hobart city. Because of the short distance to trip departures we managed to be on earlier excursions than we would otherwise have done, and thus got more out of each day. We also enjoyed the convenient shopping at the nearby central city shopping area.

A fairly new hotel very close to the airport which was ideal for us. The room, bathroom was fantastic, staff really friendly and the food in the restaurant was great. The price was good compared to similar hotels in Hobart this holiday time of the year.

This hotel is new and modem, new and tidy.
Cons: no internet access, wire or wireless. This is a downside in today media driven world. It is 25 KMs form Hobart, took at least 25 mins to get into the city.
