Hotel Grand Chancellor is the ideal base from which to explore the beauty and variety of the north the handsome Georgian architecture of the municipal buildings of Launceston, the heritage homesteads, the serenity of a cruise up the Cataract George, or driving the beautiful Tamar Valley Wine Country with its award-winning vineyards. Also within walking distance from the Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston are local tourist attractions such as City Park, Launcestons beautiful public gardens and Japanese Macaque Monkeys, the Tasmanian Design Centre, the Queen Victoria Museum & Art Gallery, Princess Theatre and Aurora Stadium the home of AFL in Tasmania.
Please note that as of 1st August 2011, any payments made by credit/debit card at Hotel Grand Chancellor , Launceston will incur a 1.5% credit card surcharge.
Note: Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston is pleased to announce that the Hotel guest rooms on 5th floor also will undergo a major refurbishment commencing on 04th June 2012 and will end 03rd August 2012. Friendly staff, great location,
Friendly staff, great location, walking distance to shopping and only 20 mins walk from Cataract gorge. Room and bathroom good size and comfortable beds. Restuarant willing to adapt menu to suit us. Will definately stay here again.

Only stayed one night but happy
Only stayed one night but happy the bed was comfortable and not to hard. Decor is now aging a little. Would stay there again.

The location was fantastic, close
The location was fantastic, close to all the shops. The two things we didn't like were the portable airconditioning unit in the room - very noisy so you couldn't run at night and it therefore got very hot, plus I loathe showers in baths with shower curtains. Give me a walk in glass shower any day!
