Formerly part of The Albany, this little Gem of a hotel is found in one of South Yarra's prettiest streets, a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of all that is offered in the area. It is in fact, situated in the best "pocket" In Melbourne.Originally a wonderful 1890s Victorian Mansion with a 1960s addition and once know as a musicians hangout in the early 70s, the Bloomfield has been dragged into the 21st century and is fast becoming a hub for the fashion industry, music and corporate industry travelers both internationally and domestically.There are many different room types which are designed to cater to the needs of all our guests. From our newly renovated Studio rooms, to our Deluxe, Mansion, Mansion Suites and our fully equipped two bedroom Bloomfield Suite, there is something to suit everyone. All rooms have flat screen tv's, beautiful Kevin Murphy amenities, Vogue Magazines, offer complimentary high speed broadband and exclusive access to our stunning new Rooftop Pool.Breakfast is served 7 days a week in the Bloomfield Bar & Bistro. We are very excited to now be offering coffee and cakes all day, bar food 7 days and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, all prepared by our new resident chef Anthony Siketa. We have also recently introduced a variety of dine-in, home cooked options for mid week dinners. Hotel will soon be offering a fabulous Room Service menu so stay tuned for more on this.

Fantastic experience

Very helpful and polite.Upon check-in we were upgraded to the mansion rooms.Huge rooms with plenty of room to move.Very clean & tidy.With only a short walk up the road to trams, makes it easy to get to and from the hotel.plenty of off street parking and close to cafes. Highly Recommend.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

Walk up to Park St.Hop on a tram to flinders street Station(Day Or Night).Plenty to do,see and eat where ever you walk.Then when you want to go back all you need to do is hop on a No:8 tram & it takes you back to where you started.Perfect

It was a great experience to stay

It was a great experience to stay this hotel. Very decent space with 3 people and price was So unreal good. Very close to tram and train service. I will choose to stay next time when I visit Melbourne again.

Exquisite old mansion convientely

Exquisite old mansion convientely located with easy access to trams and Melbourne CBD. Staff very friendly and helpful and rooms very clean and comfortable.

Great location

I was fortunate to receive a complementary upgrade, and I was very pleased with the quality of my room. The staff were courteous and helpful, and the central location is very convenient.

From the outside this venue looks

From the outside this venue looks amazing & the location is stunning... Once inside the best thing about our stay was the comfort of the real king bed. There were no towels in our bathroom & slow delivery once we advised reception meant we were late to our destination. The daikin a/c didn't work, no matter the setting tried, very noisy housekeeping in the morning too. The lack of information & signage available to advise a "dnd or pls clean room" etc almost had people come into our rooms, even thought we had a late checkout & were still asleep! Thankfully this was only for a night, never again.

Modest Price, Moderate Expectations

I booked here because of the reasonable price; overall it was an OK experience. The staff were helpful and friendly, the parking was free. The hotel décor leaves a lot to be desired: an explosion of '70s retro. Leaky faucets and broken locks, poorly maintained plumbing and drywall. The web image is of a stately old building at the end of the block and NOT of the 1960s albatross the hotel actually occuppies. It was a bit noisy. I might not have minded hearing the guy upstairs go pee each time... depends on what he looked like, really. The nearest shops/restaurants or transit are a few blocks away, it's just up from the park, about 5 mins walk from St. Kilda Rd. A fair experience for the price, since I booked in a hurry and had low expectations.

Very convenient to the city, Botanic

Very convenient to the city, Botanic Gardens and good shopping, also sporting facilities. The staff were very friendly.

Room had flatscreen TV, but no digital stations nor SBS, this is poor for a Melbourne hotel; "complementary broadband" seems to cost about $10; the limited bar food seems to only be re-heated and costs $10 extra for room service - it's cheaper to get food delivered (and fresher) from local restaurants; the iron was dirty and unusable

Very modern and funky rooms. Great
