The Claremont is a 77-room budget bed and breakfast Guest House in the heart of Melbourne's trendy fashion strip, South Yarra. Located 100 metres from Chapel St, we are surrounded by many cafes, restaurants, bars, night clubs and retail boutiques. If you feel like a change from all that South Yarra has to offer, a tram, or train, can quickly take you to Melbourne's many attractions. All rooms at the Claremont Guest House have a colour television, telephone, wall heater, ceiling fan, luggage/shelf rack, and a small desk and chair. All bed linen and towels provided, rooms serviced weekly. Bathrooms are located just outside rooms in the corridor. Please note that access to all rooms is via stairs only. 24-hour tea and coffee, microwaves, guest fridge, daily newspapers, a book exchange, Internet facilities and public phones are provided in our dining room and lounge. You are welcome to use this as your common space. Off street parking can be organized for a cost of $14 per night at a nearby car park. A refundable cash deposit of $40 is required to issue a swipe card giving 24 hours access to the car park. Please see Reception staff prior to parking your car in the car park. Street parking is free weekdays 6pm-9am & 1pm Sat to 9am Mon. Starbus door-to-door transfers from Melbourne Airport available $25 one way, $45 return, contact the Claremont for booking details. The Sky Bus (large coach) operates between the Tullamarine Airport and Southern Cross Train Station in the city ($16.00 one way per person) every 10 to 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From Southern Cross Station, you can either take a train (Zone 1, 2 hr ticket - $3.80) or a taxi ($10 - $15) to South Yarra. If you are taking the train, you will need to board the Frankston, Cranbourne, Dandenong, Pakenham or Sandringham Train and get off at South Yarra Station. Turn left as you exit the station and Claremont Guest House is 100 metres on the left side. A taxi from the Airport will be approximately $60.00.
