The hotel is in a great location
The hotel is in a great location and within walking distance to the tram, casino, main roads and shopping outlets. Only let down was the cleanliness and age of the hotel. The common walkways can do with some fresh scents and brighter lighting.

Generally, I would rate this hotel
Generally, I would rate this hotel quite well. The services were excellent. We didn't have to wait or wasted any time. We arrive very early in the morning and spent an hour in the airport booking tours, which we say they offer pretty good price generally. But, we still arrive at the hotel quite early. We had the tour agency talked to the hotel for early check in and they allowed us to check in as early as 10.00 am or as soon as we arrived, which was very good because we booked city tour at 1.30 p.m. and generally the check in time was 2.00 p.m. Cooking facilities in room which is excellent because Melbourne fresh foods were excellent and inexpensive. We had steaks most of the time, because Australian beefs were excellent. Hot plate cooking, oven, and dish washer were supplied in room. Cooking utensils weren't ample, although we learned that we can request for more. Bath room was a small with very small washing sink, but it was quite clean and the maid was excellent.

We had a wonderful stay right
We had a wonderful stay right in the centre of town. The staff were all lovely and the Happy Hour is a must. The kitchen was well equipped so we could have cooked but instead chose to go out to enjoy Melbourne's finest. The organza curtains around the bed were very romantic.

Disappointed with room facilities,
Disappointed with room facilities, bathrooms are very small. Original room allocated had a bathroom smaller than that of a holiday cabin. On complaining I was moved to another room with slightly bigger bathroom. But still not satisfactory. I would never stay in this hotel again.

We have stayed here several times
We have stayed here several times (always when a special deal is on offer) and it is convenient. Very small but adequate bathroom. Kitchen facilities a plus. The suites at the back of the building look across to offices where people are working so for privacy the blinds have to be kept closed, making the room dark. Prefer suites overlooking Collins St. Room lighting is dim - no bedside lamps. Uncomfortable chairs.

An excellent hotel - free upgrade
An excellent hotel - free upgrade to Executive Studio was a great deal and came at a VERY cheap price for a 2 night weekend stay. Whilst the studios are quite small, they are VERY well appointed, very clean and organised, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
