Situated in the heart of the city, opposite the Rialto Towers, Oaks On Collins is a fabulous apartment hotel comprising of superbly appointed, self contained New York style studios. H in Hyatt does not stand for HELPFUL

Staff was pleasant, but clearly interested in picking my pocket as much as possible. Nice hotel, but you can get MUCH MORE next door at The Quadrant Hotel.

Next door to The Hyatt is The Quadrant. Value there is heads above the Hyatt and the staff is much nicer.

Whatever you do, don't accept

Whatever you do, don't accept a room on floors 19 or 20, they are very noisy and you have to drag your suitcase up 1 or 2 flights of stairs. Don't get a room around or near the lifts as they are very noisy.

we booked one of the sky suites,

we booked one of the sky suites, and were promised a large balcony, we had a balcony but it was tiny, one of the roll up curtains was broken, there was a blood splatter on the shower curtain and the windows were filthy. The food (room service) was great and the bed was very very comfortable.

On arrival the staff were NOT friendly or helpful. Stayed in a Cosmo suite. Very tired looking and cheap quality. The room was dirty, rundown, aircon did not work, toilet was broken. Changed rooms and that was dirty too. Very poor quality for your money

Mattress was terrible. Saggy

Mattress was terrible. Saggy and uncomfortable. Shoudl ahve been replaced long ago. Shower had mold (quite a bit). Room was noisy as the air conditioning floor of the adjactent building was next to my room on the 14th floor. Buffet breakfast was good value, but a bit boring. Swimming pool is more of a paddling pool. Very small. Would not stay here again.

The returant could not get one

The returant could not get one meal correct. The service was terrible and I would never stay there again. Breakfast was supposed to be included and was not. I was supposed to be on the same floor as my travelling partner and I was not. Never had I been given a service so poor.

The location of the hotel was

The location of the hotel was great as I was doing a course right next door. THe breakfast was cold both days and one thing I really don't like is hotels that say to hang your towels if you want to reuse them, so you do and house keeping change them anyway.
