Situated in the heart of the city, opposite the Rialto Towers, Oaks On Collins is a fabulous apartment hotel comprising of superbly appointed, self contained New York style studios. Each luxury studio features contemporary design and state-of-the-art kitchen facilities with stainless steel appliances, while hotel facilities include common laundry facilities, a business centre, breakfast & dining options at the First Floor restaurant & bar, swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna. 'First Floor Restaurant & Bar' provides guests with breakfast and dinner with gorgeous views over the leafy tree-lined Collins St. The hotel's relaxing lounge bar is also the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink with friends! The city's vibrant restaurant, entertainment and shopping scene is immediately on hand with Bourke Street, Southbank, the Crown Entertainment complex and Telstra Dome only a short stroll away. Oaks on Collins will provide all the comforts of a home away from home. H in Hyatt does not stand for HELPFUL

Staff was pleasant, but clearly interested in picking my pocket as much as possible. Nice hotel, but you can get MUCH MORE next door at The Quadrant Hotel.

Next door to The Hyatt is The Quadrant. Value there is heads above the Hyatt and the staff is much nicer.

I would go back

Oaks provides a very good service. The Oaks on Collins is a neat hotel. Every room comes with a small kitchen and this is very useful to save a bit of money on breakfast or something. The rooms are clean and very modern. The TVs in the small rooms are high up and thus not that great for watching from the bed. The Internet is very expensive (AU$27.50 per day for 100MB) compared to US prices (but that's pretty much the case everywhere in Australasia I think). I would go back there again. I would try Oaks on Commerce.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

If you are interested in the Australian Tennis Open, the hotel is only 5 mins drive by taxi. You can also walk and it is a nice 20 min walk.
