Situated in the heart of the city, opposite the Rialto Towers, Oaks On Collins is a fabulous apartment hotel comprising of superbly appointed, self contained New York style studios. Each luxury studio features contemporary design and state-of-the-art kitchen facilities with stainless steel appliances, while hotel facilities include common laundry facilities, a business centre, breakfast & dining options at the First Floor restaurant & bar, swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna. 'First Floor Restaurant & Bar' provides guests with breakfast and dinner with gorgeous views over the leafy tree-lined Collins St. The hotel's relaxing lounge bar is also the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner drink with friends! The city's vibrant restaurant, entertainment and shopping scene is immediately on hand with Bourke Street, Southbank, the Crown Entertainment complex and Telstra Dome only a short stroll away. Oaks on Collins will provide all the comforts of a home away from home. Good value for money, parking on site

this hotel is wellsituated to easily access all of Melbourne's central city attractions. Staff very helpful and friendly, but some desk staff a need a little help with grooming. Information about the facility is not vollunteered- but will be cheerfully given when asked for. PARKING IS AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS AT THE PARKING LOT NEXT DOOR - for a very reasonable flat daily rate.. but you must ask for this... or it will not be offered. Very modern fittings in the bathrooms- sometimes a bit to confusing to use easily. Test the shower before you get in.. faucets are not clearly narked. Curtains and carpets are shabby and need removal or replacements. Do not pay for internet access in your room - Free Wi-Fi available at the MacDonalds down stairs- open 24hrs. Also, Wi-Fi available at 'Australia on Collins' a huge food court a couple of blocks away. OVERALL A GREAT STAY.

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

U.S. travelers should be aware that prices for food are at least 3 to five times that of the same thing in the U.S. Instead of paying $16 for breakfast in the hotel, take a trip to the Victoria Markets, buy fabulous fresh produce, and worldclass deli and pastries and make your own in your room.Australians use the Italian style of coffe- to order American style coffee, ask for a 'long flat black' with milk (they do not use half and half or cream).PARKING- in Melbourne CBD is almost impossible. The parking lot next door to the hotel will provide you with parking for $20/24hrs- definitely the cheapest in town.
