Luxury, all-suite boutique hotel in bustling downtown Melbourne
The Stamford Plaza is an all-suite boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Melbourne. The property is located among Melbourne's most popular eateries and shops and sits a short walk from some of the city's sporting venues. The lobby is sleek and sparsely decorated. Room décor is similarly simple. Harry's Restaurant, located onsite, is open for three meals a day, seven days a week.

Hotel did not have our booking. Inspite of showing them the printed receipt with full payment , kept on asking for repayment . They should have called the provider to confirm

My fiance and I stayed at the Samford Plaza mainly due to its walking-distance location from the Australian Open venues. Our room was larger than expected (though with a queen-sized bed) and had a jetted tub.

Unimpressive but convenient location
Dated furniture, cramped bathrooms, inaccessible cupboards and spartan clothing space. Location is only saving grace - king size bed was ok but in cramped space. Inner windows and verandah overlooking internal atrium/lobby is bizarre. Little natural light in room. Wi Fi extra cost unjustified

Very Nice Stay
Our stay at Stamford was terrific. The staff was very friendly. The Concierge services were fabulous...big thanks to Danielle, Nick and Reuben for helping us with tours, info. on Melbourne and Australian Open tips. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Hotel location is ideal as it is close to many places within walking distance. I wish the hotel would provide free wi-fi, but Melbourne overall doesn't have free wi-fi in most places. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future...highly recommend it to anyone.

Luxury at a reasonable price
Exquisite suite in central Melbourne plus a free drink in Harry's Bar downstairs - what more could you ask for? Perhaps a reasonably priced breakfast: the $39 pp buffet was more than we wanted or could afford, so we went across the street. Reasonable dining was within walking distance including Pelligrini's Bar (which unfortunately is not licensed).

Over all quite a good experience,
Over all quite a good experience, breakfast was nice, room was large and the couch was comfy in the lounge area- but I don't think a hotel of this quality should be using plastic flower arrangements ... a bit tacky really, also we were struggling to get our bags out of the shuttle van - no assistance offered by the doorman at any stage.

Speedy check in, room was ready
Speedy check in, room was ready on arrival at 1200hrs, clean and tidy in a quiet part of the hotel, Fitness centre was good with good cardio machines, however the aircon in the gym could have been cooler or access to the cooling system would have made the work out more pleasant. Also the spa bath jets were pretty uesless and the safe was reading error and required a call to maintenance who were prompt and fixed the problem without any hassles. There was no where to buy soap powder in the hotel for the laundry or rather the housemaid had informed us so. And the access to the internet was near the dinning room table and not near the desk - so the laptop had to sit on the table instead of on the desk where it should have been. Otherwise, great service and a very pleasant hotel to stay at. We would be pleased to stay there again in future and we would highly recommend this hotel to others.
