Credit Card Policy: Guests must have a valid credit card at check in to hold the amount of $50 per night (maximum $150) to cover for any incidental charges. - Travelodge Docklands is located in the Docklands waterfront precinct, and is walking distance to the Etihad Stadium, Convention Centre, Melbourne CBD, Crown Casino, Rod Laver Arena, the MCG and NewQuay. The Hotel also provides fabulous public transport options with Southern Cross Station located adjacent to Docklands and the Melbourne International Airport just 20 minutes away. Directions:Exit onto the Tullamarine Freeway from the airport heading towards the city. Continue on the Citylink. Take the exit toward Docklands Highway and drive approximately 10 minutes and turn right into Bourke Street. Turn left into Aurora Lane. The Travelodge Docklands will be on your left hand side.

Very good, but ...
This is an excellent hotel with great location for conference attendees. There is pedestrian bridge between hotel and the main train station. Airport gound transport is conveniently located very close to the train station. They charged extra for internet. They do not have gym in the hotel. I had to pay 15 AUD to hotel to go to nearby YMCA. If you directly go to YMCA, they charge 20 dollars. Breakfast was included in my package but I have eaten better breakfast before.

Clean & modern with few frills
The room was comfortable and clean. The elevators were fast. Not a lot of extra amenities. The staff was friendly.

A fairly long walk to some of the Melbourne attractions, but mass transit is accessible.

Visiting for a freind's 40th birthday party
Docklands location is good, but a visitor not familiar with the area might find it tough to get to the Docklands proper, or Southbank proper, as both are a short walk away, no clear directions in the lobby/room, and there isn't much in the immediate area. Hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful. Even though there were two of us in our room, we would need to call for the second washcloth and hand towel every day of our stay. You could get ice in a bowl by calling the front desk, but once our order was forgotten. Very helpful on return arrangements. (trip w/in a trip store baggage) It was noted that there wasn't a Gideon's Bible in the room.

Short walk from hotel
Worth noting is that the Southern Cross Station is a short walk away, and the city tram is a block away. Melbourne has a very good transit system, and even though there isn't much in the direct area, it's just a short trip to most everywhere in the city.

Great Location and value
Good breakfast, 1 block walk to Southern Cross Station: Long dictance trains, suburban trains, trams, and buses makes for little need of a car ( except great ocean road and phillip island) I had rented a car for 5 days, but could have gotten by with 2 days.

King size bed?
I stayed at standard king room for 2 weeks. Everything was good enough for this price except the king size bed. It was not a proper king size mattress. Just two single bed mattress were joined together on king size bed frame, so there was a gap at the center of the bed. They should provide proper king size bed if they advertise it as "Standard King Room". I had to sleep at the edge of the bed. It was like sleeping on single bed. I understand the hotel use two single bed mattresses for two customers, but then they should use another thin mattress to cover the gap if they use it as king size bed.

Big Fella
Great place to stay for a week/weekend trip.
Our experience at the hotel was a friendly and comfortable one, the staff were very welcoming and the hotel was very clean with modern style rooms. The location of the hotel is excellent, with easy access to all forms of public transport and within easy walking distance to the centre of Melbourne CBD

Very happy with our stay, location
Very happy with our stay, location of room was quiet & on a high level with a lovely view! Slept well without disturbances, very handy to Etihad Stadium for the football! We walked there and back to our hotel in 10 minutes! Thanks for a great stay!

I was very impressed since I would
I was very impressed since I would never had stayed at a Travelodge before thinking it was only a budget hotel. However, the rooms were very nice. The Breakfast Hot Buffett was excellent as you had 8 hot foods to choose from. It was close to Etihad stadium for the football (only 1 minute to the end of the road). We had free parking, breakfast as part of our deal- very well priced. Quiet at night considering it was next to the railway station, we liked it but it is about 20 minute walk to central melbourne but then the Free Tram is only 5 minutes away. Great place will stay again.
