BEST WESTERN Hotel Stieglbräu

This hotel is very easy to find and conviently located between the train station and the city center. The room was clean and huge (even by American standards)! The staff was very helpful with everything.

Great Hotel! Great location and wonderful breakfast! Close to Train station (which you can go or come from Munich) easy walk to bus tours (sound of music) and easy walk to the Historic Old Town.

Very noisy hotel. Bus stop outside front door to go to train station . Is a bit of a hike from Salzburg city centre though

In Salzburg terms, a little out of the way, but still within walking distance of everything important (almost beside the Mirabel Gardens). Decent breakfasts too, and air-conditioned rooms.

The hotel is nice and clean. Personnel is professional. Some of the windows of the rooms are towards the railway, and therefore noisy, and the parking is not free, as initially shown in the advertisment, but 10 Euro a day.

We stayed in this hotel in January 2010. Location is convenient as it is a 10-minute walk from the old town, right next to the city of congress and the Mirabell gardens. It is also convenient for guests with cars (there is a 12 euro parking fee per night). The room and bathroom were clean and old. Amenities and facilities are very old - felt like I was back in the early 80's. Also, though all the european hotels have 2 separate beds pushed together, this hotel had the most stubbornly sliding apart beds! Buttomline: stay here if you are not planning on staying in the room a lot - could be quite depressing? and if you can spare more money, check out rates for Best Western Imlauer - it's right next door to Spieglbrau, but is the RENOVATED one of the two.

Location is in a walking distance between the main train station and the tourist spots. Breakfast is good, but the bathroom looks a bit wear and tear.

Very good choise, near to the centrum of the city. Near to anywhere, nice, clean, modern hotel. They served best breakfast I´ve ever had in hotel, I can warmly recommend this place to stay in Salzburg.

Hotel is within walking distance from the Central Railway Station. There is a bus stop in front (easy to get off after return from Old Town). The beautiful Mirabell Garden is just 5 minutes walk across the street. Restaurant offers great food and varieties - make sure to include breakfast option (inclusive) during stay. Our room is on 5th floor facing the main street - somewhat noisy, warm and facing the sun in the afternoon. Air-conditioning is moderate and barely acceptable (early May). Hotel receptionists may not offer much help in planning sightseeing points of interest. They ran out of 1-day Salzburg Card and we had to buy ours at the Panorama Sound of Music ticket booth across from Mirabell Garden. We bought the SOM 4-hr. tour too - worth the $, rather than from the Hotel.

The Stieglbrau, SALZBURG, Austria was very convienient to the train, which was a major plus. The beds were a little on the hard side, but not too uncomfortable. The staff was friendly, meals were very good.
