Radisson Blu Hotel & Conference Centre, Salzburg

VERY close to Train station...taxi would not take us as it was only around the corner. Lack of gift shop, for incidentals. Hotel staff did not mention close places to eat, other then the higher priced ones. McD, and several small cafes are located less then 2-blocks away. Shopping mall close with supermarket to obtain snacks for the room. Food in the Hotel was excellent. About a 30-minute walk from the old town and most of the tourist sites. the Hop-on Hop-off routes do not come close to the hotel, and the main stop is a 15-minute walk away.

It's about a 25 minute walk from this hotel to the center of Salsburg,it's a doable walk, but it is a walk. The return walk seemed longer than our walk to town, we like things a bit closer to the activity.

We arrived from Vienna to Salzburg by the train then we walked to the hotel. The staff were friendly and talking english fluently. The room was big and clean at the corner of the building. Also there was a car park nearby with 5 EUR only per night

We were traveling through Paris & Austria, and after two disappointing experiences with hotels, the Radisson Blu in Salzburg Austria was a god send - so much so that we broke our plans and stayed an extra night. If you are looking to be pampered and treated well, and if you don't mind walking or biking to the center of town, then, this is the place for you. It's not in the heart of the city, but it is near the Metro, buses and Salzburg's major train station. It was perfect for us since we were traveling back to Vienna and 3 blocks from the train. It's about 5 blocks from the River, and about a 20 minute walk from the heart of the city - WE LOVED IT! If you are looking for tiny, quainte, old world charm with challenging ammenities then this hotel is NOT for you - this hotel is refreshing and modern, clean and spacious. The consierge and receptionists were delightful and helpful. Just what we needed - and within our budget.

There are two Radisson Blus in Salzburg and this one is right by the train station. It's a pretty dreary neighborhood and not walking distance to the historic town center. You need to take a local bus (about 10 minutes). The hotel was filled with Asian tourists travelling with guides in large buses. Breakfast was not included and cost 18 euros per person if you wanted it. This experience was too ho-hum to ever repeat or recommend. But the hotel is modern and clean.

This hotel is changing owners at present. Not enough FOH staff. No hotel compendium in rooms, so no info about any hotel services. Housekeeping was very adhoc to say the least - cleaned what they felt like cleaning? Airconditioning was lousy! Fan worked but no air, had to sleep with window open on busy street with building work and casino opposite - not acceptable. No coffee or tea making facilities in room? I know this isn't common in Europe, but are you trying to cater only for European tourists? Two coffees with room service plus E10 charge doesn't cut it!! Sorry, but cannot recommend at this time.

The location is quiet close to the Salzburg train station actually, but it was a little bit hard to find the hotel because it was located between several buildings and there was no sign about the hotel around the train station. The double room is spacious and well equipped and a big LCD-TV has several channels including English, Chinese, and Japanese channels. Using wireless Internet is free but you need to ask the front id and password which are available only in a hour. After a hour you need to ask it again. Breakfast buffet is 17 euro which is expensive for young student couple like me, but I could find restaurants at Forum which is a big shopping mall very next to the station. There are a big supermarket, Macdonald, and cafes. Surroundings were nothing special. There were several big buildings but only a few store in there and roads around hotel were under construction.

We use the hotel/location to travel to a number of places which include: Salzburg, Hallstatt and Munich. The hotel is less than 1/2 mile from the train station and bus station so it its in a great location. Two bad things, the staff are young and not very friendly or not very focus. For example the Wireless Internet is free that I didn't find out till 3 days later. Another bad thing the area is under construction the road and casino so its pretty noisy during the day but we are never at our hotel during the day.

i staied 3 times i n this hotel reneissance in the last..now it is beeing very bad hotel i will never stay again in it. the room very dirty , the housekeepine do not put any spoon or tissue . the refregeratot is very hot, and i called the reseption about the and they did not answer since 3 days.
