Cristall Hotel

Pleasant staff, room basically clean, noisey room #107, breakfast very good, Orbitz price very inflated over going to the hotel directly. Won't make that mistake again. Location gives easy access to trains, trams, busses within one block. Need to get a quite room, not on front street or rear train track but in middle of the hotel.

1. No air conditioning. No ventilation through windows. Suffocatingly hot (even when cooler outside). 2. Refrigerator broken. When I asked them to fix it, they said I broke it! No repair. Orange juice fermented and exploded from heat in refrigerator. Night staff did not have any paper towels or cleaning liquid to help with mess. 2. The leg of the combination desk/bureau broke and sent my computer and the television to the floor. 3. The bathroom faucet leaked with water spraying straight up all over the bathroom. They wrapped it with tape to get it to stop spraying. 4. Breakfast was good. 5. Day staff were rude and unhelpful. Night staff (college students) were pleasant and tried to do what they could to help.

I found the Hotel Cristall ideal for my purposes, attending a conference at one of the major hotels surrounding the Stadtpark in the city center, less than ten minutes away on the S-Bahn that passes in front of the hotel on Franzensbrückenstraße. The single room I occupied for seven nights was nicely furnished and immaculately clean facing the central courtyard, in which you may choose to have your breakfast from the very satisfactory buffet included in the room rate if the weather is suitable. As mine was a business trip internet access was a requirement. The complementary wireless service worked very well through-out my stay. The only noise I was slightly aware of was that of the trains passing behind the hotel to and from the Praterstern station, about 300 meters from the hotel, from which you can travel to and from the Vienna airport every half-hour, about a 30 minute trip, for only 3,60€.

Good clean room, excellent internet, rather noisy at front of hotel, convenient location but not for center city, not many shops or restaurants close by but on tram line to city and easy access to CAT express train to airport.

The hotel was easy to find and a very short walk to the Prader station for transport links to the airport and the city center. It was clean and they allowed us to check in early. The breakfast buffet included both hot and cold items and was quite nice. Our only complaint was that the rooms were not air conditioned and there was no fan. So the room was quite warm. It did cool off with the window open but then you listened to the road noise. The pillows could use replacing as they were uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. So all in all it was a nice stay and with a little tweaking could be better.

Super staff, safe location, near all public transportations, even for the city's bicycle renting program. This is not a fancy place and has old carpeting, but I prefer the nice location, safety and functionality of this over the higher priced Ringstrasse hotels. Will definitely be using this one for my frequent planned airport "layovers". And the room has a safe which can fit laptop. Only problem was that Orbitz had made the reservation but had not paid by the time I left.

Sehr gute Lage, nahe am Prater. Saubere gute Zimmer mit einem viel zu kleinem Bad. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ist für einen Städtetrip ideal.
