Hotel Alpha

Location for my group was great - easy walking distance to the museum quarter, or a very simple subway trip. All out work was in that location so that was ideal. The subway also easily got us to the big farmer's/flea market on our off day as well as into the city center. Public transport is awesome here. Hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful and overall my group had a great experience. Rooms are small to us Americans, but if you've traveled in Europe at all they are typical in size. Bathrooms also small, but again typical. If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I would definitely make the decision to stay at Hotel Alpha.

Upon our late arrival into Vienna (of which the hotel was aware), we were tired and just wanted to get into our hotel room to relax. The receptionist at the hotel apologized to us, and told us that they had overbooked and that our reservation was invalid there, but that she had taken the liberty to book us into another hotel, which was exactly the same quality as Hotel Alpha. The other hotel was farther from the subway station,and because it was so late, (almost midnight) we felt as though we had no choice as to which hotel we were going to spend our weekend in. Although the receptionist was very apologetic, it was an enormous inconvenience--needless to say, we will not be booking anymore stays at this very irresponsible hotel at any time.

Very nice 3-star. The people at the front desk were the best- very helpful. The single room was small by US standards, but normal by European. Breakfast was better than average. I plan to go back again in two weeks on my next trip to Vienna.

A modest hotel that suited our purposes perfectly. My wife and I were travelling to the UK with our daughter and enjoyed 5 days in Vienna over Christmas 2008 - 4 nights at the Alpha Hotel. Located behind the Rathaus (the town hall) - a 5 minute walk, with the Rathaus underground station on the way. Perfect for getting around very quickly on their modern, fast underground(and very clean - if only the Metro in Paris was as clean!). The hotel is in a little back street, average exterior, but very nice inside. Very helpful and friendly reception staff. Complimentary coffee & hot chocolate was available beside the lounge bar until VERY late (help yourself), very welcome on several late nights. Very pleasant room and a lovely breakfast room and even better breakfast. A great stay and would recommend it to anyone. And the rates were very reasonable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Alpha and the staff were really good and took good care of us - even packing a breakfast for us when we had an early train to Venice which meant we had to leave the hotel before breakfast started. Room was a little small as are many european rooms, but comfortable nonetheless, afterall it is really just somewhere to sleep and leave your things. Tram is at the end of the street - a scant 2 minutes from the hotel and there are pleasant local restaurants nearby. We had no problems and would hapily stay there again.

The room was small, but adequate. The location to the metro system is excellent, just a short walk away. English speaking reception staff were very helpful. There was a good choice for breakfast. I would be happy to stay here again in the future.

The hotel was in a nice location, 10 min walking distance from the museums. Breakfast was great. Also there is a wonderful restaurant around the corner, I think the name is Mariaholfer (or something that sounds like that). All these thing made the hotel very pleasant to stay in.
