Nice hotel.
This is a nice hotel with a great location and a good night's sleep. As others have mentioned, make sure you get a renovated room and there can be noise at night from a local club - but we found our air conditioning to be working just fine so we didn't need to open the window (i.e. sound wasn't too bad). One thing to mention - the renovated rooms (at least the one we had) has a glass sliding door to the toilet room. If you're alone or a couple that uses the restroom with the door open, then I guess you'll be fine. But as we are not, it was a little awkward. Just thought I'd mention it for those who might be wary. Otherwise, it's walking distance to St. Stephan's Cathedral. Really easy walking distance to/from the metro (Stephansplatz and Schwedenplatz). I'd recommend the Vienna card or a multi-day metro pass. It's nice not to worry about individual tickets and the metro is very easy and gets you everywhere you want to go. Also - we were only in Vienna for 3 nights, 2-1/2 touring days. I'd recommend at least one more day if you have the time... So many museums and sites to see. Enjoy Wien (Vienna)! It's a wonderful city for art and music fans. Cheers!

perfect location
I went to a meeting with a client that stays in Vienna. I´m from Brazil and my sales director went with me. We stayed out of the hotel the most of the time, because we had a meeting all day. Whatever, we liked the hotel, it was clean and the price is very honest. The receptionist were friendly and helpful. It was nice trip and a enjoy it very much.

Wonderful location in Vienna
When we emerged out of the U-Bahn tunnel into Stephens Platz we were immediately amazed by the location and the incredible surroundings. Walking to the hotel, just minutes away, we realized we were in the heart of Interstadt Vienna - the center of the city where we were within walking distance of almost all major sites and easy access to the great public transportation. Once we arrived in the hotel - the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly - and the hotel itself a modern sleek hotel. The rooms were very modern with minimum space yet total function. Comfortable beds, desk/working space, mini-bar, safe and full bathroom amenities. This was great after many other cities in Europe with none of these. The staff was wonderful about directions, recommendations and extra services. This hotel was a great choice. We happened to stay at another Mercure Hotel in Berlin and found all the same great aspects. Great to see this kind of consistency in service.

Just off center of the main Stephens Platz Mall area, you can find wonderful Cafe's and Restaurants. We went to Weibels Wirtshaus, where they have great food and a great wine selection. In general we found that most all the food was very good at the Cafe's and we never had a less than good dining experience - but treat yourself to a great restaurant experience.
