A great find!

Great location right in the center of town; very accommodating staff; very large, super comfortable rooms; close to good restaurants and all the sited. If the price is right (had a great deal at $200/night) will happily stay there again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Jose Feliciano Cafe, a quiet, intimate little place, across the street had a beautiful breakfast for 8 euro (why spend $30 at the hotel)

Great Vienna Location

We were looking for a hotel near the Opera house. The location can't get better. The hotel is decorated in a very modern theme. We liked it as a departure from the older, stuffy themes of the other hotels. The staff was uniformly and exceptionally helpful and courteous. Some other reviews fault the staff, but the hotel currently has exceptional staff.

Buy food the Naschmarkt and either eat in the room or have a picnic. It's closed on Sundays, but all other days it's filled with inexpensive, fresh, and great food.

Fab Comfort and Location

You couldn't find a better location in VIenna. The Museum Quarter is a block or two to the left of the hotel entrance, and the Belvedere area a 10 or 15 minute or so walk to the right. A subway stop is a block a way, and it's easy to get to the airport bus from there. The State Opera House is a block up the street, and you can walk to the old downtown from there in 10 minutes or so. The Albertina is only a block away. My room was extremely comfortable: the bed very relaxing, an upholstered chair for the desk, and another one to lounge in, as well as a divan, plus a moveable table, and a huge window which looked out over a plaza. The room has coffee service. The generous bathroom is separated from the bed area with green-tinted translucent glass and has an eclectic design - a glass basin, a large shower stall with no door and lots of nozzles, plus a huge claw-foot tub. A gorgeous etched-glass back-lighted headboard is behind the bed. I found the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful with directions and advice.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

I like to stock my hotel room with snacks and beverages. If you cross the street from the hotel and walk past the Opera House, in back of the Grand Hotel Wein there is an utterly fabulous grocery store on the bottom level of the shopping gallery. They have hundreds of cheeses, snacks galore, beverages of all types and kinds, as well as ready-to-eat treats. Bring an large, empty back pack as you will want to load up! Also, on the same side of the street as the hotel and a few stores to the right is an Aida coffee shop - it's a local chain and has a menu in English. Their pastries are absolutely to die for! Start or end your walks here with a well deserved treat!

You have to pay for every move you make

The hotel is in a very nice location, clean and with hi-tech decor. Unfortunately at the time of booking it is not clear what is included in their price, even the sales staff didn't know whether breakfast was included or not. Considering the standard and facilities, this hotel has been grossly overrated as five star. Many facilities which are free in other hotels, are charged in here. i.e. standard t.v. & radio channels. ... late check out is also deliberately misquoted. You only find out at the time of check out.

Loved it!

Loved the look, the design and the ambiance of the place. The lobby was covered in cool art and the juice bar was just the thing first thing in the am. The entire experience was first rate.
