This hotel has traditional charm and located on a beautiful inlet and right in the heart of Nassau. You can lie on the beach and watch huge ocean liners sail quietly by (about two or three a day). The water is crystal clear. I love this hotel.

A breathtaking visit

This is our second visit to the Sheraton Nassau Beach. After visiting in 2008, we were concerned about the current plethora of mixed reviews. We loved the fantastic blue waters and the beautiful sandy beach and took a chance and booked our trip. A combo birthday and reward trip for our nephew who kept an A average, we were not disappointed. The Sheraton and more so the general atmosphere of the whole Cable Beach area was a pleasant rediscovery. Abuzz with the new Bahia Mar project, the area and it's people are back to being the Bahamas I fell in love with 25 years ago... gracious, optimistic, and ripe with hope and hospitality. From Delpheme in the Caribe Coffee Bar who plated and dressed up a piece of rum cake for an impromptu birthday beach walk all while off the clock and then fished out a birthday candle from her purse to the wonderful office manager who relieved a long check in line and made these Sheraton Gold weary travelers feel back at home, expediting our opportunity to get out to those turquoise and navy waters, the Sheraton is reclaiming it's place as the queen of Cable Beach. In regards to the mixed reviews, take this piece of advice...unhappy folks typically find fault with everything. Kick back, relax, and find the good... it's there!

Great vacation. Very clean hotel. Friendly and efficient staff - laid back and helpful but not fawning over you. Place is a little old but definitely well kept and clean. Rooms were basic - soft and comfy bed - small balcony for every room. AC in the room was hard to regulate - either cold or off. Cable Beach was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of beach chairs but the life guards re-organize them all and expect you to return towels by 5:30 which seems early. Area felt safe and the Bahamians were beautiful inside and out but not many restaurants / attractions within walking distance. Buses and taxis were always around when needed. Could definitely use some better music in the lounge / pool area.

We had a very good time at the Resort but the extra $38 per day resort fee was over the top as there were no resort extras to be had. Food was expensive at the resort but going downtown Nassau was a great option on the city bus, cost $1.25 per person each way and you don't have to have the exact change. Room was on the 3rd floor so we had garbage, bottles, kids shoes being thrown down on and in front of our balcony. Ask for rooms on the upper floors.

With the dump trucks and all the construction starting at 7:30 am every morning, it was difficult to get rest. The price of food was alarming! Almost 9 dollars for an oatmeal and drip coffee at the onsite Starbucks and meals averaging 70-100 dollars for dinner with only one drink. Was very surprised ay the expense of the incidentals here.

Ok, so it's on the beach. And it has all the amenities you'd expect (pool, hot tub, bars, etc). But it's no super resort. It totally lacks any type of luxury and the property itself is worn and old. It really needs a complete design make over. If you're used to places like the Four Seasons, Ritz, W or even a good Hilton, do not go to Breezes, all inclusive or not.

This was my second visit to Breezes. I went about 5 years ago with a 3 other guys and this time I went back with my wife. I would say that this place is a good value if you are on a budget, don't expect 4 -5 star ameneties/service . The food was so-so but because we were there for 3 nights it was tolerable. The restaurant they have called Garden of Eden is much better than the buffet as is the outdoor grill by the pool. My only gripe was there were no king beds available so the wife and I had to sleep on separate full size mattresses.

This was our first no kids vacation in 5 years and it was worth every penny to stay at the Marley Resort. Everything is impeccably maintained and clean, staff is friendly and accommodating, and the room and common areas are quiet and relaxing. We had hot stone massages at the spa and [...] is hands-down the best masseuse I've ever had. The food is fantastic too, if you don't mind the wait. As with most everything else on the island, things move much slower there. All in all, we highly recommend the MRS.

PROS-This is my third time comming here mainly because it's cheeper than most hotels. The location is excellent because it's a short walk to the Fish Fry and historic down town Nassau and Junkanoo beach is across the street. I also like the view of the light house. CONS-Amenities are few: two swimming pools that I never seen anyone use. Complimentary breakfast is simple. No meat, eggs, pancake, or, french toast. There was only mixed fruit, oatmeal, toast, Bagles, coffe and orange juice. The hotel was in disrepair: one of the elevators didn't work and the restarant was closed and there were small bugs in my room. Conclusion: If you are a single traveler who enjoys scuba diving and just wants a cheep place to stay then this is for you but I would not recomend for family fun.

It was a very relaxing place away from all the hotel buildings on the other side of the island, right on the beach. It's an alternative choice if you don't like to be surrounded with tourists and tourist attractions. The hotel wasn't particularly luxurious, but the staff was always very nice and helpful when we had requests. If you're a fan of the Sheraton, stay away from it, but if all you need is a beach, nice people, and a quiet environment, I recommend this hotel!

The staff was very nice and down to earth. The room had a/c which was surprising to me. Saw a rating from a guy that said there were roaches all over the room so I was a little worried. I saw no roaches. The place was in disrepair, but expected this due to the very low price. It was out in the middle of nowhere, but we were just staying there one night, so it was fine. They require a $10 deposit for each of the following: Key, TV remote and A/C remote, but you get the deposit back after the stay.

Spacious Value Accommodations

  • 50th Birthday Boy Verified Customer
  • 31 Jan 2012
Condo sized, three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, full kitchen... you can't find more space for the money. I'm told these are former timeshare condos, and some elements are showing wear, especially windows and doors on the ocean side, which are hard to open and lock. But the layout is good, if you don't mind a lot of narrow stairs, and it's great to be able to spread out, especially if you're traveling with a family. The 2nd floor master suite is especially spacious. The view is impressive, but the room doesn't have a balcony, which is on the top level. The walk-in shower was a real pleasure. If you're going to use the coffee maker, bring your own filters (ours took a regular filter, flat-bottomed, which the local store did not carry), and be prepared to buy jugs of water at the grocery store (three blocks west) -- the tap water is foul. I especially appreciated the small safe in an upstairs closet, which provided a secure place for passports and wallets. The complex has a computer with Internet access available 7am-10pm. Our unit had a washer and dryer on the back patio, which was great for drying bathing suits in the rather humid climate. The hotel beach is small, but pleasant. The walk up and down is doable, for about half a mile either way, if you don't mind wading around jetty walls a bit. The view of little Balmoral Island across the water is a nice bonus. The pool is great and long enough for real swimming. The bar by the pool is convenient, but I preferred walking east to the Sheraton beach bar for an afternoon rum drink or local beer (pronounced kah-LICK). In general, drinks in the area seem fairly reasonable, but food is way overpriced. The only nearby restaurant on the water we found is about 5 miles west at the Compass Point resort, a funky, fun place with good food, a great view, and parking across the street. Otherwise, the neighborhood lacks much charm, and there's not a huge amount within walking distance. I would recommend the restaurant Indigo two blocks west. The Swiss bakery, hidden in a nondescript shopping center almost across the street, is about the only source for breakfast baked goods around, and the best bargain I found. If you rent a car, be prepared for a harrowing driving experience, with narrow roads, brisk traffic, and aggressive drivers (which you will become, by the end, out of sheer defensiveness). Driving on the left wasn't too disorienting, especially as the wheel of my rental was on the left, like I'm used to. But I would recommend having a navigator to remind you which way to turn out of the parking lot (a caution reinforced by the front-end collision we encountered down the road). Maps are helpful, but roads are as poorly marked as they are maintained. On the other hand, it's not a big place, so you can't go too far wrong. I would avoid driving into Nassau if you can, or pretty much the whole area south of town. There is a good free public parking lot at the east end of the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay from which the walk into town is not too bad. I didn't try the bus, but there is a stop right at the entrance to the hotel.

The Paradise Island Harbour Resort is a great resort for the money. The experience there was better than I expected. Paradise Island is beautiful with many things to do. Or just staying at the hotel is fun. All the staff was extremely friendly and courteous. There was a nice variety of foods to choose from everyday and excellent drinks to quench the thirsts. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay there and would recommend it to anyone.

Cold Shower and dirty floors

Everything looked clean on the surface, but when I looked closer I saw dirt and hairs. The towels and sheets also had stains that clearly could not be removed, which was gross. Also, the water was cold for my shower every day. Finally I was required to wear a wrist bad, which is standard on the islands, but nonsense. On a bright note the staff were friendly, and the location was near the beach and down town.

At the west end of New Providence lies an exquisite hideaway. A Stone's Throw Away is perched on one of the highest elevations by the coast. Here the Guests can indulge in a rare panoramic view of Nassau's land and sea. The scenery boasts the best of the island's natural wonders, from the native pine forest by Lake Killarney to the brim of the coral reefs that protect the glimmering beaches of west Nassau. The property was recently built to echo the traditions of an old Bahamian home: wood floors and wood ceilings, louvered shutters and a large wrap around porch bring the visitors back to a quieter time long ago when the music of the islands could be heard in the whispers of the trade winds. Additional features include: Baby sitting service, Bar, Barbecue area, Dry cleaning, Laundry service, Library, Non-smoking rooms, Reception, Plunge pool, Safe deposit box.

I didn't call ahead to have the free shuttle pick me up( my fault) so it only cost me $10 for a taxi to take me. There was a doorbell at the bottom of a stone walkway and you let the person know your name and if you need a porter for your bags( i didn't realize this and carried them up two flights of stairs!) The staff were extremely pleasant and very willing to offer/explain anything. The first person i met got me registered to my room and when i asked about a good restaurant was quick with a reference. The views from the inn's balconies were beautiful!! It was also very quiet inside the room. ( I think i was the ony guest) Everyone was very nice an and they offered a delicious hot breakfast in the morning. I coulde choose between eggs, sausage, waffles, bacon, along with an assortment of cereals and fruit.

Lovely quiet place. We booked the suite, which was gorgeous! Friendly staff, will drive you to supermarket or airport. Or: love beach! Perfect quiet beach where you can rent snorkling gear and discover all the colourful fishes on your own. We liked this piece of paradise better than the busy crowded center of Nassau. You can also walk to the beach, but watch out for traffic! Hotel has free wifi and breakfast. If you like a quiet romantic getaway, definitely recomended!

All Around Great Experience

Traveled in the beginning of November, and even though a cold front prevented us from going to the off shore island everyday, we had a fantastic time. The hotel and pools are immaculate. And that offshore island is reason enough to go, it was spectacular. The hotel staff was great, especially at the restaurants and those who took care of our room. The one drawback: the food wasn't so great. The buffets were better than the sit down restaurants, and one night there was a Junkanoo festival where the pool deck was transformed into a sort of street festival. The food was fantastic, and we had a lot of fun, even though I'm reluctant to join in on "group activities" like that, had a great time. My husband and I are pretty low-key, and this place still worked great for us. The "quiet pool" was nice, and on the off shore island there was definitely space to get away.

REALLY CHARMING

I visited Nassau Bahamas on business recently. I stayed at Graycliff because of its close proximity to the venue and to downtown. The staff was very attentive and the Baillou room would be my choice of accomodation at Graycliff in the future. However, I found the airconditioning to be noisy especially in the quiet of the night. Altogether, I appreciated the very attractive, peacefull setting and antique decor of this hotel. Anna.

Just stayed here for one night because it was just across the street from where I needed to be the next morning to board a diving boat I was staying on for the next week. Beds were fine and comfortable, safe and quite, close to bars and restaurants--few small bugs in the bathroom, but none seen anywhere else. I will stay here again next year for the night before I board the boat--would not stay here if you were looking for a hotel/resort to stay for a week though.

RELAXED AND ENJOYED THE VIEW AND WEATHER. The hotel staff made it all worth while. They were so very accomodating and eager for guests to enjoy thier stay. I travel to the Bahamas 4-5 times yearly and the staff at the Paradise Harbor Resort were the absolutely best I have experienced. Very upbeat attitudes and genuine concern for their guests. The restaurant is very good anot not to pricey. The fixtures were not modern but very clean. I would recommend this hotel.
