wonderful beach

The Barbados Beach Club was a very nice resort to stay at. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were always very friendly and eager to help. The beach was very clean and the water was beautiful!

I went to several different beaches and thought the beach at the resort was just as nice as any of them. I would suggest staying at the resort and enjoy the beach there. Looking for a better beach will probably waste time.

Barbados getaway

The overall experience at the hotel was good but I'd say very average at the most. Cleanliness of the room was super- smelled delightful when the maid finished. Room and bed very fine. My disappointment was in the food and drink. Limited drinks at the bar especially if you dont like rum. Would have been better if the bar served wine. The buffet food was mediocre. The fine dining was done very well but the menu was limited to only two entrees without extra payment- then when you'd found something you liked- next time you got it- it didn't wasn't the same. Service in the restuarant and bar was very good. Hotel service not so good- we needed an air conditioner remote as we couldn't change the temp or shut it off with out it. Finally received on on the lasdt night of our week long stay- and only after a friend who has stayed there six years in a row complained for us--we had just given up after asking twice. I think if I went to the Island again- I'd try somewhere else.

Not Worth doing the All-Inclusive

We chose Barbados Beach Club because we wanted the all-inclusive option at an affordable price. Although it was affordable, we were disappointed in the resort and the food. We realized for a couple hundred dollars more we could've stayed at a much nicer all-inclusive, such as Almond. Barbados Beach Club is old and run down. They were doing work on the buildings and grounds while we were there, but it has a way to go. At one point we felt like the only guests staying there as it seemed so deserted at the pool and at dinner. The room was large and comfortable, with nice view, but had old, dark outdated furniture. The beach was very small, but quiet and relaxing with nice clean, turquoise water. There were no beach activities such as kayaking and snorkeling like they advertised on the description. You also had to drag your own beach chair to your desired location on the beach. The food was very average. They only had one restaurant open, the buffett, but they advertised another sit down restaurant that you make reservations for 3 times during the week. This one seemed to be under renovation, which they did not mention. Some evenings we enjoyed the selection, especially when they served local Carribbean dishes. Other nights we did not enjoy the food, Oriental and Italian dishes. It was not a large buffet or selection like we've had at other all-inclusive resorts. They did'nt even have coffee at breakfast. We spent quite a bit of extra money dining out, especially lunch, because we did not want the buffet. Evening entertainment was lame. Every night but one it was a local DJ who played bad 70's music catering to the older guests. Overall, the beach was nice and there's lots to do in the area. We walked most days down to St. Lawrence Gap and other beaches where there was more going on.

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

On Sunday afternoon we walked down to St. Lawrence gap and found a beautiful beach. There was a small bar and a cookout with great local food. We rented chairs and it was like a beach party with lots of people, live music, food, and drinks.

Wonderful small resort

It is a beautifully placed hotel with both a private beach and rock wall to let you hear the sound of the crashing waves. The staff is all very nice and the rooms have a great view of the water. Every person I met who was staying at the hotel was very pleasant and fun. You never have a problem getting a chair by the pool or on the beach and the water activities guys are great. The bar is a lot of fun and nightly entertainment is right on. My only complaint would be the food. They have a nicer restaurant that you can only eat at 3 times a week (make sure you bring nice clothes or they won't let you in) and other then that you will only have buffet food that you will tire of eventually. I highly suggest this resort for anybody who wants to have a nice quiet trip with your loved one or family.

Bad, bad, bad!

It looks 10 times better on the internet pictures. Everything is old, staff is very slow to direct you when you ask questions. Drinks at the bar are and look cheap. Hotel room got broken into and money was taken from luggage. Management did nothing because they claim there are no cameras on premises or a way to check if a masterkey was used. Very dissapointed. Will never come back again. Please pay a little more for a better hotel, especially if you are taking a family vacation.

Great Resort

Our third stay at this venue. Good staff; beautiful views and scenes; excellent pools; good location close to the Gap; not much flexibility in room accomodation because of currently high occupancy rate. There are no screens for the rooms, but they may not be necessary because there are very few bugs. However would be nice at night so we could have the fresh air instead of air conditioning. Although very attractive, the Lanterns By The Sea restaurant is unsatisfactory; with incredibly slow service, mediocre food, and mistakes in orders.

Great location and great beach access

We had a room with back patio access directly to the pool and it was great to walk out directly to the beach as well. Room service ends at 9pm and the nearby mini market closes at 6pm so make sure you have snacks and drinks in your room. A definite must do tour is the catamaran swimming with turtles with Cool Runnings. They are the best! Also, Glory Tours offers good packages which is well worth the price versus catching cabs to all the places you want to see.

Cabs are pricey so if you can split the ride with some hotel friends, it's better. Other than that, Oistins is 5 minutes away and a must do on Fridays. The Gap is also within less than 10min away. If you book other tours, the transfer to pick you up at the hotel and drop off is included so it's a better deal than going on your own by taxi.

Great Resort if You Don't get in LATE!

This resort was beautiful and quiet. The pools and grounds were fantastic and well maintained. The beach was very beautiful with soft sand and without rocks. Waves came in pretty rough at times , but were nice other wise. The only problem I had with the resort was at check-in. We had late arrival and had E-mailed that we would be late and save our reservation two days before we arrived and received a reply. We did not get in until midnight and were told we did not have a reservation. They ended up putting us in lesser accomodatioms that were in someone else's with the last name. We had reserved the room and plane tickets two months before and paid for them. This was not acceptable and I informed them. The next day I went down to front desk and talked to the manager on duty. They said they would check into it. This went on all day. Finally I went down again and was informed that I would have to stay in the room. I informed them that because I was late that they had given my reservation to someone else and would take it up with upper management. Ten minutes after getting back to my room, they called and moved us to the right accomodations. I was very pleased with the rest of the trip.[...]We went swimming with the turtles, snorkeling on a reef, and took a tour around the entire island.
