Pretty simple
Phone didn't work the whole time, which for me who actually needed to make quite a few local calls was not okay. Not my 1st visit to Barbados, the employees weren't the friendly Bajans I am used to. I did read reviews before staying and I got exactly what I was expecting.

good value for an average hotel
Sunbay hotel is your everyday average hotel. We stayed for two nights, just before leaving Barbados, so we did not have any high expectations. Anyhow, the "sister" hotel Barbados Beach Club is just across the road and has direct beach access + towels and umbrellas. Good stuff. Apart from this, the rest is pretty much like any three star hotel you'd find anywhere in the world. WORTH STAYING IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND THAT MUCH ON ACCOMODATION.

Cheap
Peeves: No shampoo. Pay-per-use internet. It seems they are a little short on money or sense. Nickel and dime-ing doesn't make money in the hotel business. Charge an extra $2 a night and provide shampoo and a free internet terminal. They just made a new bar and it didn't have any overhang on the countertop. Try sitting at one of these. It's a joke. They had a pool table laying on the floor, so you couldn't use it, and the new roof over the dining area was leaking at the seams. They don't know what they are doing.

Long walk from hotel
Esso gas station in Oistins has chicken tenders and chips for reasonable price. One meal will do for the day.

It is what it is, a 3* hotel - nothing more, nothing less
You get what you pay for here - could do with some TLC but other than that it is ok for the price. A little off the beaten track for choice of shops, bars and restaurants but great location for access to the beach.

Nice getaway with friendly staff
My husband and I stayed here for about 3 weeks and we had a great time. Its not a luxury hotel but the staff are great and its convenient and affordable. The continental breakfast is standard, I feel as though it could be better. The pools are excellent and the room is always kept extremely clean. Its relatively close to St.Lawrence Gap where a lot of party spots, bars, etc are. I do wish there was a kitchenette in the room because spending 3 weeks there and buying food every night became rather expensive. If the breakfast given in the morning was a bit more hearty... we could have saved some money. At the end of my stay we knew all of the staff and I would definitely recommend staying here... maybe not for 3 weeks but for a shorter vacation.

Nice, quiet , bang for the buck
This is nice clean, quiet hotel and a good value for the money. Amenities are lacking but then again it doesn't claim to offer much so you get what they advertise. The pool and garden area is very pretty and relaxing and the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly , if not very fast, but thats the Caribbean way . The only meals available are brakfast and we were on the continental plan so it was ok. Nothing special. I would NOT recommend the all inclusive which means lunch and dinner are across the street at their sister hotel and the food there is horrible. We slept here and used the pool on occassion but we went beach hopping and sight seeing by renting a car. If you want the extras this hotel is not for you. If you want a clean , quiet, laid back place to relax then this is great. Remember this is not a beach front hotel. The beaches that are within a 3 minute walking distance are ok but there are much more beautiful and comfortable beaches on the island to enjoy. BTW renting a car will save you a ton of money as cabs are very expensive. A 10-15 minute cab ride will cost from $15-$20 each way. One can easily spend $80 per day on cabfare.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
A fantastic hamburger can be found at "Just Grillin" an open air restauarant with fresh grilled food at the Quayside Center just minutes away across from Rockley Beach which is a good place to hang out for the day.The price is right and the burger was surprisingly good. So was the other food.

Good Value
The only issue I had with this hotel was that I had a problem with my air conditioning the 1st day and it took the staff until the evening of the 2nd day to fix it. In the hot Caribbean that is a long time. Also I found that there were a lot of mosquitos in the room, so much so that I brought a spray to kill them, and used it before I left for the day to keep their numbers down. I would advise taking this action if you stay here and are prone to lots of bites.

Good location for a reasonable price.
Everthing was neat and clean in the room. The only thing was that the WIFI internet did not work while I was there. Though the Hotel did not have dinner, however the sister hotel had a pool side buffet and steel pan entertainment which were both great. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. This hotel is not luxurious, its simple and clean perfect for the economic traveller.

Great staff nice location
The hotel was clean, and the environment was quiet. This was important because my family and I were able to sleep well at night. The facility was very close to the famous Oistins fish fry, thus we were able to walk home after eating ridiculously large meals. The staff was excellent everyone from the managers to the woman who cleaned the rooms really went out of their way to make sure our needs were met.
