Novotel Brussels off Grand'Place

The location can't be beat! We had a one night layover, and our friend, who lived in Brussels for 5 years, recommended this hotel. Walk out the door and Brussels is at your doorstep! Ask for a back room, as the front rooms are noisy from the street (as I said, you're "right in town!" We had a back room and had our window open. Could hear some noise, but not enough to disturb us. Never had breakfast there, but it was expensive so we went down the street for breakfast and another experience of Brussels. Staff was helpful with directions and recommendations. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The air conditioning was not adequate. I was told that it was unusually hot, so the air conditioning cannot keep up. I had to open the windows making the room very noisy. Other amenities and location was very good.

While the location of the hotel is excellent for the train and it's proximity to heart of Brussels, that does come with a price. The rooms are certainly comfortable and reasonably appointed. However, the rooms were very noisy with a combination of renovation work and young loud partyers. We were there are on a Saturday night and the noise from the street was annoying as partyers whooped it up at all hours. And then at 7 am on Sunday, I could hear a workman working in the room near me. While the hotel had signs informing people of ongoing renovation work, I didnt expect to have that at 7 am on a Sunday. Since they really cant control what someone is going to consume at the local establishments or the fact they enjoy honking horns at 3am, I would suggest they look into far better sound proofing windows. It sounded as if my window was wide open. (it wasn't).

The Novotel is one block down the street from the Central Train Station and a five minute walk from the Grand Place. Can't ask for a better location. The hotel is very clean and austere, as is typical of Novotel hotels. The staff is competant and friendly. I have no complaints and will stay here again when visiting Brussels.

Perfect Location next to Brussels Central Station. Underground connection only 200 metres. Two criticisms. The Breakfast at 23 Euros is rediculous - and wifi is available - but not included in the rate. Not sure why. Otherwise, Excellent

This hotel was suppose to be four star and it wasn't. The hotel was in good area near the bus and near Grand Palace. The hotel is near some eating and shopping places. The hotel hallway carpet was dirty and needed replaced. There was a stain on the carpet in our room too. The resturant was small and couldn't accomodate to all the guests. The breakfast was good. The bed and sofa bed were hard. I have stayed at Novotel in Amsterdam and its so much better than this one.

This was a great location in the middle of town. Less than 5 minute walk from the Grand Place and 10 minutes to Mannekan Pis. Staff was super helpful and even told us what restaurants to avoid cause they rip you off. Staff gave restaurant recommendation that had possibly the best steak Ive ever had in Europe. The only problem, and it wasnt the hotels fault, was the noise coming from the street. We were on the side of the hotel near heavy foot traffic and there was noise all night. Since we were unsure if there is AC in the room we kept the window open and were woken up all night by the street noise. Not the hotels fault but when we stay there again we will ask for a room away from that street. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Excellent location. Less than a block to an entrance to the Central train station and 1 1/2 blocks to the Grand Place. It is not visible from the hotel and we should have asked directions before we started walking the wrong direction! Rooms are very small but clean and the shower was large,
