beatiful places
The location is perfect, you can walk to see the main attractions, and to find food. The street where the hotel is on is beatiful. The food in the hotel restaurant is very expensive, but you can walk to eat in other places for less money. Try the chocolate stores they are very, very good. The hotel is very nice and clean. perfect place to stay.

Short walk from hotel
There are a lot of places at walking distance where you can eat for a reasonable price. We ate at the Chat Noir, simple food, good price . People there very nice.

Lovely canal-side hotel
Although it was a bit hard to find, the Ghent Marriott was well worth the effort. We enjoyed the canal-side location. The parking was very convenient, under the hotel. The staff were all pleasant and multi-lingual.

Short walk from hotel
Gravensteen Castle was amazing to see, having come upon it by simply rounding a corner on our walk. It's a must-see while in Ghent.

Excellent location - couldn't be better
First class hotel in the best location in the historical centre of Ghent facing the River/Canal. Within short walks of all the main places of interest. Wonderful medieval architecture. Good restaurants and coffee/tea shops but expensive!! Unless you like heavy rock/pop music gigs don't visit during the 10-day Ghent Festival (mid-July)which is held in the historic central area and when the town is besieged with visitors - but all well behaved! Ghent has similarities with Bruges, but Bruges is more quaint and beautiful. However Ghent is well worth a visit of 3-4 days and is only half-an-hour on the train from Brussels and the train fare is included in your Eurostar ticket. Also for another half-hour train ride from Ghent you can visit Bruges for a day.

Helpful friendly staff; excellent
Helpful friendly staff; excellent breakfast (including soya milk available!); large comfortable room; excellent bed; cheaper to park in nearby public car park (£10 / 24h) than hotel car park (£18 / 24h). The only slight criticism is not having any opening windows in the room - I like my fresh air! Downside: £5 local tax on departure.

Fantastic location right in the
Fantastic location right in the heart of Ghent within walking distance to most attractions. Staff were very helpful and recommended (and booked) two great restaurants for the two nights we were there. Hotel facilities were great and there is parking below the hotel. If travelling back to Ghent, I would stay again.
